jessica stam covergirl
I am a little bit of a Jessica Stam stan. When I saw this photo pop up on my screen, I literally eep-ed. Apart from Tyra Banks and Christie Brinkley, this is the first supermodel – that I can recall – to become a “CoverGirl“, and she’s doing it with all sorts of Stam-Specific Beauty.

Get that coin, girl.

creme brulee vaseline
Vaseline is one of those ‘magic products’ that cure almost any beauty ailment. Make-up remover, lip moisturizer, highlighter, night cream (when heated), eyebrow tamer, eyelash conditoner, the list goes on and on!

The smell, though? Nothing to write home about. Until now. As a complete creme brulee addict, I was thrilled to find out that after their Aloe Vera and Rosy tint releases, the brand has now released a limited edition Creme Brulee scent! Limited edition at Selfridges (also online) only, for just £2.99.

Food porn, for your time…

Pukka Ayurveda
If you already love the brand’s teas (like I do!), you are bound to fall in love with Pukka Ayurveda Skincare. Created by Pukka Herb’s Ayurvedic practitioner and herbalist, Sebastian Pole, Pukka Ayurveda Skincare welcomes highly concentrated and sustainable oils, herbs and fruits (which have used a CO2 extraction process) into your skincare regime.

Ayurveda is the celebrated Indian philosophy of health – and beauty, to coincide – and the product I have used that really brought this philosophy to life was Pukka’s Nourishing Brightener. Though it looks like grounded woodchips, the Nourishing Brightener is actually a luxurious dry exfoliant, packed with almonds and bilberry, that you mix with your cleanser to brighten your complexion and slough away any dead skin. Best exfoliant I have used in years. Incredibly – for such a highly concentrated product – it is only £13 for 15g!

Additional products in the new line a cleanser, toner, day and night creams, serum, face oils, and an eye cream; all as nourishing as the last, and none of which will break the bank. Check them out for yourself at Harrods and Wholefoods!

rimmel london
95% of the time, when someone asks me how they can be taught to apply eyeshadow, I direct them to a quad. That’s why when I was invited to try out the latest from Rimmel London, I knew I was going to share it with you guys!

Their new Glam’Eyes eyeshadow quads come in a few different colour combinations, but I used “Bold Behaviour” here, which contained a champagne-coloured nude, a teal, and a red-toned and blackened purple. Intimidating for anyone new to make-up, I’m sure, until you see the foolproof instructions that Rimmel provides for colour placement on the back of the quad!

Though the hues are rich, I did a quick sweep of the colours using my fingers only and loved the toned-down results. Champagne over the entire eye area, a very light swipe of teal close to the middle of the lashline, the red-toned purple on the outer corners to add dimension, and the blackened purple in and above my crease, blended out with a clean finger. A soft yet glamorous eye in less than 5 minutes!

I topped it off with Kate Moss’ new lipstick, Lasting Finish in #008, to balance the look out but keep the focus on my eyes.

Guinevere Van Seenus Miu Miu

Guinevere Van Seenus for Miu Miu

  • Looking good, Guinevere van Seenus! As you can probably tell, the ‘aged’ model has replaced 14-year-old actress Hailee Steinfeld as the face of Miu Miu. The upcoming resort ads were styled by Joe McKenna and lensed by David Sims.

  • Following in the footsteps of Giambattista Valli, Matthew Williamson, and Karl Lagerfeld, Macy’s has just tapped Doo-Ri Chung to be their next collaborator in the masstige market. His line will be launched on February 15th, and will hopefully be filled with his incredibly flattering cuts! (Trench coats, please, please, please).

  • In the past week, stock in Ugg boots has fallen an enormous 39%, with Crocs lagging not too far behind.

  • Tom Ford’s documentary, Tom Ford: Visionaries, airs tonight on OWN (nice job, Oprah), and looks as though it will finally offer an intimate, rare look at the fashion plate’s creative and personal processes.

  • Remember Karl Lagerfeld’s muse, Baptiste Giabiconi? Well, he is now a contestant on the French version of Dancing With The Stars and is often seen in body glitter. We can only hope Uncle Karl ends up in the audience at some point.

  • France’s First Lady, model/actress/singer Carla Bruni, just gave birth to her first child with President Nicolas Sarkozy at 43 years old. She was born at the Clinique de la Muette and her name is Giulia – congratulations, you two!

  • Now she is presumably finished with her role as the face of beauty company Mark, actress Ashley Greene has just been announced as the new face of DKNY and DKNY Jeans. Look forward to seeing the beautiful brunette in the brand’s Spring/Summer 2012 ad campaigns.

  • This has to be the greatest piece of marketing, ever. Rico/Rick Genest (aka Zombie Boy) paired up with cosmetics company Dermablend to create a video which covers his entire tattooed boy in ‘new skin’, and effectively proves their Leg and Body Cover to be the best concealer in the world. Their “Beyond The Cover” video campaign is the greatest thing my dark circles have ever seen.
