This will be movie number two for Vodianova after premièring as Medusa in Clash of the Titans. Belle du Seigneur will show her as a WWII-era married Swiss woman who falls in love with a Jewish soldier (that’s Meyers). The movie will be filmed on location in Geneva and around Italy starting in late October, set to debut sometime in 2011.

I can’t for the life of me understand why Lagerfeld would scale back like this. He’s the only man who’s not afraid of eight-ton lions or speaking his mind. He is said to want to pour “his creativity into his new collection, based on the idea of ‘mass elitism’.” The idea of “masstige“, or mass prestige, is something that Lagerfeld has been toying around with since he collaborated with H&M on a diffusion collection in 2004. No word on pricepoints changing (…they won’t).
If I had to make a list of people from whom I’d take fashion advice, I can guarantee that Prince Charles would not be on it. This is why it is fascinating to read that he penned an article in this month’s British Vogue offering his own sartorial tips on vintage clothing, wool, and how fashion can save the planet.
Prince Charles on Vintage:
“I have a passion for reusing things and repairing them…On the whole, the older some things are, the more comfortable and familiar they become; they can even be adapted to look new in a different context.”
“[Vintage] is not only about an attraction for retro design and the charm of the old, it is very much about the future. Fashion clearly makes people feel good, but now it has to do the world good, too, by contributing to the creation of a virtuous circle, with nature protected at the centre.”
He also gives a shout out to wool which he says is “infinitely more ‘sustainable’ than artificial fibres made from oil derivatives.”
Next Sunday, Victoria Beckham will be presenting her Spring/Summer 2011 collection to a very exclusive audience of fashion’s who-and-who’s. This time, one thing will be different. The new collection will be accessorized by Victoria Beckham’s own handbags line. With the highly-acclaimed accessories designer Katie Hillier as a consultant, Victoria Beckham has developed a 15 piece handbag collection for Spring/Summer 2011. At least one more collection is also expected for Fall/Winter 2011.
If Victoria Beckham has proven one thing during the past few seasons, it is that she understands luxury and aesthetics. If you add Hillier’s track record as an accessories designer for Marc Jacobs and Luella, we are in for something quite special.
Birthday girl Lea Michele looked beautiful in a navy blue Oscar de La Renta Resort 2011 silk taffeta sweetheart neckline gown. I honest to Vogue drooled when I saw her multicolored diamond statement Lorraine Schwartz necklace. Although you can’t see it in this picture, she did at some point sport a vintage satin Swarovski clutch, also.
