There are certain textures and colours that seem to spark my little lovechildren into overdrive. This means you will always see me giggling like I have stumbled upon two tiny unicorns if I am in silk or purple. Even more so with both.
The Carrie Diaries – the long-awaited prequel to Sex and the City – has finally hit US screens. Though the script has yet to impress as its predecessor had done so many years ago, I was sold on the wardrobe from first sight (she even has a first-timer version of the infamous Carrie necklace!). Intended to replace the fashion-crazed Gossip Girl viewership over on The CW, I look forward to see where how rather garish – but altogether charming – ensembles develop over the first season.

With the seasonal explosion of tube-abandoned scarves, hats, and gloves rearing its frozen head, I feel I might just have stumbled upon the London Commuter’s dream gift: The Sheebie. The thick knit – pictured here in blue and purple – has been permaglued to my body over the past week. Combining the elements of a scarf, hoodie, shawl and gloves (with thick hand-woven pockets), this is the most practical fashion obsession I’ve had all year.
The kids love it, too.
With five minutes of ‘sunshine time’ to spare today, I thought I would take advantage of the rare opportunity and jump in front of the camera to shoot a quick outfit post. As tiny rain droplets turned my curly ombre hair into frizzy ombre hair, I hopped around in an old handmade dress, burgundy cape, my trusty Litas, and my new pair of sunglasses from Firmoo*.
* Firmoo have a great first pair free program which includes both their prescription and non-prescription sunglasses and eyeglasses (each pair are available in both options). The program is available worldwide, has a great refund and exchange policy, and all you have to do is pay the shipping. Kind of amazing, no?
In the case of engagement rings, I definitely don’t think that excess sparkle is OverSparkle, but I am fully aware that anyone’s fashion choices can cross a sparkly line.
I think I often pretend that line doesn’t exist.
Glittered jackets, trousers, skirts, dresses – I have owned (ahem OWN ahem) them all. Yet, while browsing the gorgeous evening dresses in sizes 14-32 of Curvissa, I was taken aback by the sparkly styling of some of the dresses (see: Floaty Embellished Evening Dress). Sparkle clutch with sparkle neckline…is it OverSparkle or Smart Sparkle? For me, OverSparkle might just be when one Sparkles on more than one item (with the exception of glitter nails).
