Models at The Met Gala 2011
This week, everyone and anyone in the media eye
seemed to have congregated to one location:, the annual Met Costume Institute Gala (or “Met Gala
“). This year, the Vogue
-created ball celebrated the life and work of the late, great Alexander McQueen
and ended up raising $10.8 million for the Costume Institute
While thirteen McQueen gowns were worn, the best of the red carpet best are below: View Post
Yes! Leighton Meester is back on the style circuit. Above, we have the official ad for Vera Wang’s “Lovestruck” fragrance – shot by Carter Smith – which Leighton is the spokesmodel for. The ad is a little bit Pretty Woman and unnecessarily Photoshopped, though brush off-able. C’mon, it’s Leighton.
For the fragrance launch, Meester wore a Vera Wang Pre-Spring 2011 top and pants, Roger Vivier shoes, and Cathy Waterman jewellery.
Later on, she joined Vera Wang to light up the Empire State Building. The landmark was illuminated in red and white to raise awareness about DKMS, the world’s largest bone marrow donor center. With ombre hair, Leighton paired a beige Vera Wang Fall/Winter 2011 sleeveless top with a body-lengthening Vera Wang Spring/Summer 2011 floral print skirt. Toffee-coloured Brian Atwood “Debra” slingbacks completed her outfit.
FINALLY – yes, this is all in one day – she attended the DKMS Gala in a Vera Wang Pre-Fall 2011 dress, Cathy Waterman Diamond Leaf Drop Earrings, and the same Brian Atwood heels. Let’s hope she had today off.
Two gorgeous Leighton Meester looks in one post; how lucky are you? Firstly we have her at the People’s Choice Awards yesterday wearing a Vionnet floral embroidered dress from their Spring/Summer 2011 line, with some go-to Brian Atwood pumps.
On the 4th of January, Meester was ice skating-slash-fulfilling her role as global ambassador for Herbal Essences while working her position as the new face of Missoni. She wore a printed dress with matching jacket by Missoni (obviously), plus her favorite Azzedine Alaïa lace-up ankle boots and a Proenza Schouler PS1 Keep All bag. In the accessory department, we’re spotting a Cathy Waterman yellow-gold and diamond Love ring, and two Bulgari rings, one of which benefits Save the Children (another sponsor of the event). Busy fashion for a busy starlet.
Leighton Meester didn’t look like she felt the winter weather so many of us are suffering while red-carpetting at the LA premiere for her new film “Country Strong“. The Gossip Girl got frocktastic in a Christian Dior floral minidress which she paired with a fuschia and orange Pierre Hardy ankle-strap wedges. The expected glamour was injected with a dash of gold Cathy Waterman accessories.
Additionally, we can share some Waldorf woohoos as a little birdy has informed me she has been asked to be the new face of Missoni. She can add this accomplishment to her campaign for Vera Wang‘s new fragrance that will also be released next year. It’s comforting to see such a promising young star has the potential to leave such a cult character as Blair Waldorf and stay on top of the industry (yes, it has been confirmed she is leaving in two years).
Final notes? Leighton Meester > Taylor Swift. See Meester’s video for “Summer Girl” below. View Post
