This is one of “those” dresses. The ones that sit in our closet and stare us down when we don’t feel confident enough to wear them (yay, womanhood). Which is always.

It’s bright. It’s tight (with beautiful draping at the top). And confident as I am, all of that paired with curves and blonde made me feel a little more Elle Woods than my own ridiculous standards of professional decorum would allow.

But I packed it for Florida. I packed it because I gave up negative thoughts and almost doing things. I packed it because pink is my secret power colour.

After all, what is the point in doing hundreds of squats a week if I’m not going to take the results out in a hot pink dress?

Grab your own versions of “those” dresses and get them out this weekend. You won’t regret it.

What I Wore:
Hot pink Ralph Lauren dress (similar here)
Gold flip-flops from Badgley Mischka

Since first trialling Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks in Los Angeles, I have had no reason to look elsewhere for long-lasting lip colour. Homegirl hit a home run with her 28 matte shades (all infused with Vitamin E) and I search for a new favourite every time I’m back in the U.S.

Naturally, Florida’s low-key beauty aesthetic sent me straight for Lolita II – Kat’s brighter version of the chestnut rose original. All in all, it is the perfect SuperNude. And worth an outfit post of its very own.

What I Wore:
White button up short sleeved top from Helmut Lang
Purple plaid skirt (similar here)
Nude bow flats

After coming out on International Women’s Day, I was more than ready to don some occasion-supporting red and celebrate all things superwomen with my favourite OG Mumboss in the universe.

As Vicki was co-hosting her annual Passion into Pounds event (which, backed by The British Library, inspires women’s entrepreneurial potential) with the equally go-getting Jessica Huie MBE, I decided to go all out in a full-length red wrap dress complimented by a blow-dry from our mutually-loved hairdressing team of dreams; Jason Collier‘s at The Rosewood.

Vicki has not only been a sister and friend to me since we met but an absolute rock to everyone around her – a rare combination of intelligence, beauty, love, determination, and kindness.

As days off go, it will be a challenge to beat the all-encompassing happiness of International Women’s Day.

What I Wore:
Joanna Hope Necklace Dress (sans necklace) from JD Williams

I live a life of Laptop Clubbing (aka using London’s coffee shops as my roaming office space). And while I’m fortunate to have that freedom, I’m often weighed down with – at the very least – a laptop, chargers, and an SLR.

My life is quite literally on my back. Turtle vibes.

When looking for something to replace the Manfriend’s shattered backpack, I was lucky enough to stumble on a brand that combined all my particular Laptop Club OCD needs with stylish, heritage designs. His and hers; padded laptop compartments, quality materials, utilitarian storage , and stealth back panels that slide over luggage handles (for your Laptop Club On Tour needs).

What I Wore:
Dress from Alice’s Pig (vintage-inspired and detailed but insanely comfortable)
Jay Leather tote from Solo New York (a deceptively spacious handbag)
East Hampton backpack from Solo New York (on Bae)

As a travel blogger, I can often be stuck spending more time in airports than I do in air so was head-over-heels to find out that Heathrow Airport just launched “The World’s Most Connected Mirror” alongside their brand new Personal Shopping Lounge at Terminal 5.

Along with the help of your (complimentary and all rather adorable) personal shopping, the mirror allows you to connect with friends and social connections to get immediate feedback on desired purchases in real time.

I, naturally, got stuck in as soon as I could. Between sips of champagne, Vuitton-lusting, Harry Potter Store browsing, and cape-twirling in Harrods, I managed to scout the shade I had fallen in love with when trying blue lipsticks weeks beforehand, the MAC lipglass that has always reminded me of childhood, and even a massively discounted early Christmas present for myself (in the shape of a wine-coloured ostrich handbag from Kurt Geiger).

If you’re not going to indulge when it’s duty-free, when are you?

Shop My Heathrow Personal Shopping Buys Now (or wait ’til you get to the airport for the discount!)
