Cynthia Rowley Glambulance

  • It’s Glambulance to the rescue! I’m talking the kind of rescue that even those without problems will covet. Fashion designer Cynthia Rowley has set it upon herself to give away MAJOR prizes to those of you with the best/most embarrassing wardrobe malfunctions. Got something that qualifies? Head to the Band Aid Facebook page and go to the “Fess Up” Contest to submit your fashion cringe moment and get the chance to win styling session as well as a $2,500 shopping spree at Cynthia Rowley! The Glambulance will also be out and about on Fashion’s Night Out on 5th Ave between Cartier and Ferragamo. Wink wink. ;)

  • Lady Gaga has announced her new persona is a “Nymph”. See: pale hair and make-up from the You and I video.

  • Taylor Lautner, of Twilight fame, has reportedly taken Elle’s Joe Zee (love him! love him!) as a style consultant. Looking forward to some refine Werewold styling on his upcoming Abduction press tour.

  • Azzaro has named a new creative director: Mathilde Castello Branco – previously at Lanvin, currently set to rock the industry.

  • Michael Kors will be launching a new “digital venture” next week. Called Destination Kors, the project will offer a mix of e-commerce and editorial content. Expectedly, to further brand his fashion empire.

  • The uber-talented former creative director at Sonia Rykiel, Gabrielle Griess, will launch her own fashion line at this season’s (Spring/Summer 2012) Paris Fashion Week.
  • Emma Stone Riot Girl
Gah, I adore Emma Stone! Not only did the July 2011 issue of Elle use the power combo of photographer Carter Smith and stylist Joe Zee, but they used one of my favourite actresses as a model! The fashion in “Riot Girl” is extremely strong for a celebrity spread, creating a cohesive and impressive editorial. It’s also to be noted that the clothes aren’t wearing her (you could call this Jessica Alba syndrome?). View Post

    Rachel Zoe Gossip Girl
This season of Gossip Girl is going to be especially chic. There were already reports circulating saying that fashion industry giants Karl Lagerfeld and Vogue editors Hamish Bowles and Lauren Santo Domingo would appear on the show, and now it looks like everyone’s favourite celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe is going to be on the show, too!

Somewhere in between all of the shows and parties she’s been invited to over New York Fashion Week, she found time to schlep to Queens to tape a few lines. The workaholic is starring as herself in an episode whose story line centers around plans for Blair Waldorf’s 20th birthday party, a source has said. Strangely, even though she is perfectly capable, she has also agreed to let the show’s wardrobe department dress her.

“Rachel plays herself in the scene and has a handful of lines to remember,” the insider said, adding that designer Cynthia Rowley and Elle magazine’s creative director, Joe Zee, will also make guests appearances in the same episode. Set your DVRS…twice.

Joe ZeeThe Sundance Channel has signed Elle’s creative director (and star of The City) Joe Zoe on for an 8-episode series titled All On the Line. Each episode will feature Zee providing some much needed assistance to a designer on the brink of a fashion meltdown.
The basics? Zee will step in and offer his advice and help each designer prepare to show his or her collection to buyers. He’s like a junior Tim Gunn – I can’t wait!

“Joe Zee is a perfect fit for our brand,” Sarah Barnett, vice president of the Sundance Channel said. “[He’s] a true creative who’s fun to watch, with a great eye for spotting and developing authentic talent.”
