Kate Moss Wedding Vogue
That, my friends, is the epic cover for US Vogue‘s September Issue 2011. You couldn’t really want more than a customized Alexander McQueen Fall/Winter 2011 gown on Kate Moss, could you?

Inside the issue to beat all issues, Kate has a gorgeous spread of wedding photos that feature friends, family, and new husband Jamie Hince in Rodarte.

In the accompanying interview with Hamish Bowles:

After two years together, they took a romantic sabbatical to Thailand: “We were just so loved up, and he asked me to marry him every day.”

The day Kate finally said yes (while watching My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding): “I am so romantic about Gypsies. They’re not allowed to do anything until they get married. So they all get married really young, at sixteen. You can’t believe the dresses. They’re like blinging butterflies times ten; they can’t move down the aisle! It’s so genius. I was just watching Jamie, so cute, and I was like, these girls, they just spend their whole life waiting for that day—let’s do it!”

Her dream wedding: “I wanted it to be kind of dreamy and 1920s, when everything is soft-focus. The Great Gatsby. The code name was GG for a while. That light and that kind of fun decadence. It’s rock-’n’-roll Great Gatsby!”

The controversy-ridden John Galliano on designing Mrs Hince’s wedding dress: “She dared me to be John Galliano again. I couldn’t pick up a pencil. It’s been my creative rehab.”

Kate Moss Wedding Dress
Have you ever seen Kate Moss look so stunning/happy/lovely? For her nuptials to Jamie Hince (of The Kills), the iconic model wore love on her arms, a custom vintage-style embellished John Galliano wedding dress, Manolo Blahnik heels (with a hidden something blue) and an endless supply of bohemian beauty. The groom wore a custom Stefano Pilati for Yves Saint Laurent grey suit.

Mosstock” was an absolute dream:

  • Kate’s hair – loose waves with a weaved veil – was styled by Sam McKnight.
  • Charlotte Tilbury on make-up artist duty.
  • Mario Testino snapping away.
  • Anna Wintour attended, wearing Prada.
  • Kate changed into three additional outfits by Stella McCartney, whom also designed the maid of honour’s dress.
  • Snoop Dogg performed at the reception.
  • The reception invite asked guests to bring their bathing suits and water guns.
  • Feather Extensions

    Jennifer Love Hewitt

    – Everyone from Hilary Duff, to Jennifer Love Hewitt, to Steven Tyler, to Ke$ha, to Selena Gomez seem to be sporting feather hair extensions. Unfortunately, the trend seems to be stripping fisherman supply shops of their fly-fishing stock. The ‘hackles’ used to create the extensions have quickly hit shortage status. Don’t mess with the fishermen, fashionistas. Before you know it, your Omega-3 supply will disappear!

    – At the Dior Homme show on Saturday, LVMH chief Bernard Arnault told fashion journalist Cathy Horyn that John Galliano would definitely not be working for LVMH in the future. Regarding Galliano’s arrest, Arnault said “he didn’t have the simple politeness to contact me.” Designer Bill Gaytten will oversee the Christian Dior couture collection for now – a decision that is fueling takeover speculation.

Beyoncé bought – well, her assistant bought25 pairs of designer shoes as a 25th birthday present for her sister Solange. Adopt me, Bey?

    Marc Jacobs Crossdressing
    – Want to see Marc Jacobs cross-dress in Katie Grand‘s collection of Marc Jacobs threads? Click here.

Tommy Hilfiger is one of the “high net worth” individuals Morgan Stanley recruited to invest in Michael Kors‘ half-a-billion-dollar global expansion. The 25-percent stake in Kors’ company was an easy decision for Hilfiger, who said “anybody would be crazy not to invest in it. Michael Kors is the next major global player in my eyes.”

    London to New York Jet
    – This is going to revolutionize Fashion Week! British firm HyperMach recently revealed plans for their “SonicStar aircraft” – a ridiculously fast jet that would reduce the flying time from London to New York to two hours. Bonus points for implementing an engine that will reduce fuel consumption. Unfortunately, the project won’t be completed until 2025, so we’ll have to sit through another 22 seasons or so of flight-scheduling insanity.

Kim Kardashian is having her wedding dress custom-made by Vera Wang. Due to the wordly importance of the occasion (ahem), she is making staff at Vera’s studio sign a strict confidentiality agreement.

Gwenyth Paltrow was spotted having a meal with Sir Philip Green in London. The only way this makes sense? A collaboration with Topshop. I mean, she is a country singer, actress, blogger, mom, cook and more – why not a fashion designer, too? Fingers crossed!

    Lady Gaga Tumblr
Lady Gaga got a Tumblr. It’s called Amen Fashion, and it’s addictive.

    John Galliano Court

  • “Fashion racist” John Galliano went to trial on Wednesday at the Paris magistrates court. He defended his behaviour by offering an explanation of drugs, alcohol and stress. Since he is only being asked for a ‘symbolic settlement‘ of 1 euro plus lawyer fees, the future looks bleak. The result of the trial is set to be announced in September.
  • Azzedine Alaia seems to be playing the “there’s no such thing as bad press” card. According to an outburst, Karl Lagerfeld “has never touched a pair of scissors in his life”, and “no-one will remember” Anna Wintour. Even with Wintour’s cold reputation, Azzedine claims that Vogue’s editor-in-chief “is the scared one” when they meet.
  • Alaia, round two! It has been revealed that he was asked to take over for John Galliano at Dior. The 71-year-old designer said that was flattered but declined. Azzedine Alaia is certainly an interesting choice for Dior – a possible deterrent for Riccardo Tisci rumours?
  • Lady Gaga Edge of Glory

  • Versace had a bloody good week. Lady Gaga chose the label as the only designer she wears in “Edge of Glory” (her latest music video), after which Donatella Versace announced she will be collaborating with H&M on a diffusion line! See video below.
  • Botox has competition. A new alternative to the wrinkle-freezing procedure, Dysport, appears to be outperforming the leader. A “split face” study was recently carried out in which doctors randomly injected Botox into one side of the face and Dysport into the other. After thirty days, two-thirds of participants were found to favour the results of Dysport.
  • Coco Rocha signed up to be the face of Canadian fashion brand Jacob for their Fall/Winter 2011 campaign. Why the significance? She is taking part in a new “no retouching policy“.
  • Article of The Week: Roger Friedland Looks Back on Pubic Hair – don’t worry, it’s better than it sounds.
  • Ricardo Tisci
Riccardo Tisci has been on the tip of many fashion friends’ tongues when asked who they think could replace John Galliano at Dior (remember Galliano’s anti-semitics?). Everyone in the industry already knows that he is the new designer.

The Givenchy designer was again “confirmed” when Derek Blasberg tweeted as such, then in an interview with W, Karl Lagerfeld said he would like to see Tisci go to Dior and Haider Ackermann take over at Givenchy, THEN ‘sources’ report that he is “openly discussing his move to Dior with certain acquaintances”. Where is the announcement, already?
