If Naomi Campbell hosting a reality TV show wasn’t a big enough headline grabber, the supermodel has just sent the internet a-tizzy by adding three more fashion powerhouses to the mix. Today, Coco Rocha blogged that she and Karolina Kurkova would be the two other supermodels on board for Oxygen’s “The Face“.
From the blog:
“As the youngest mentor of the three, I have looked up to Naomi and Karolina my entire career and am ecstatic to be able to work side by side with them on this amazing new project. We, as coaches, will scout and choose our teams from aspiring young models nationwide before guiding them through assignments, which include photo shoots, runway shows and commercials for some of America’s best known brands”.
With Nigel Barker also participating in the show – supposedly as the host – I have never been so excited for a season of anything to start (ok…not including Mad Men.)
As only one model hopeful is going to become “The Face” (and the star of a major brand campaign, to boot!), this new reality show is going to be an exciting mashup of The Voice’s competitive slant and America’s Next Top Model fashion mentoring. Stilettos at the ready.
Today was the last official day of the Cannes International Film Festival. You know what that means, don’t you? A red carpet report, of course! With over a week of the most well-dressed and stunningly beautiful women of the world congregating in the South of France, I present you with the 12 of the most excellent ensembles.
Our personal favourite has to go to Rachel McAdams at the 2011 “Midnight In Paris” premiere, wearing a red silk organza and tulle Marchesa Fall/Winter 2011 gown. Tres unique romanticism. See the rest of the best below.
Victoria’s Secret need their own fashion week, I swear. Today, my Twitter been rattled with some exclusive photos from the 2010 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. While the full model ‘cast’ has yet to be confirmed, we have photos of Candice Swanepoel with enormous harp-shaped wings, Anne Vyalitsyna as ‘Country Angel’, Erin Heatherton channeling a peacock (personal favourite so far), and Chanel Iman in a semi-sheer baseball inspired jumpsuit below. Expect more hot ladies being hot in hot clothes as I hear more. (Also, official cast list below!) View Post
Roberto Cavalli marked his 40th year in business by holding his Milan Fashion Week show under the Peace Arch in a tented greenhouse. The model cast alone was worth a stream – Natalia Vodianova opened, followed by Erin Wasson, Karolina Kurkova, and others, until Laetitia Casta closed. He delivered what I can only expect The Runaways would wear if they were into couture. Cavalli was clearly a nostalgic ode to Florentine handcraft. The details weren’t to be believed, – chiffon seamlessly worked with leather and animal spots made from pale sequin embroideries – reminding us that Roberto was the designer who elevated leathers, animal prints, fringe and feathers to high fashion. The covers are all that embodies the i-D ‘cool’, which is extended inside with appearances by Karolina Kurkova, Noémie Lenoir, Lara Stone, Eva Herzigova, Tatiana Cotliar, Agyness Deyn, Natasha Poly, and Lily Donaldson, as well as a special tribute to the late Corinne Day.
