One thing I love about Tim Walker is his use of Kirsi Pyrhonen. She is one of very few elite models who always gives something unexpected in a shoot – something I think worked beautifully for her in Vogue UK’s “An Awfully Big Adventure” for their December 2011 issue. With the beautiful styling of Kate Phelan, the photos turned out to be everything that we now expect from a Tim Walker spread: humour and meaning which duel with the excess. Swoon. View Post
“The Right Lines” is the most visionary spread I’ve seen in 2011. Vogue UK‘s super stylist, Kate Phelan, has done it again for their April issue. I just adore the composition of Lindsey Wixson, Kirsi Pyrhönen and the pastel-painted world around them; photographer Tim Walker‘s vision is oh-so-clear. View Post
Let’s let Vogue UK wrap up our 2010 editorials with a bang, shall we? Kate Phelan has styled Siri Tollerød into space for their best spread of the entire year, “Star Signs“. Photographed by Tim Gutt, the spread has a use of props that rivals the genius of Tim Walker while keeping the posing extremely, bewitchingly fluid. Horoscopes without tack.

Vogue UK pulled out all the stops for their “Russian Dolls” spread with the fabulous Karlie Kloss. Master stylist Kate Phelan took the reins as Tim Walker captured all that was chic and couture. It is a must-expand-every-image. View Post
