Caps over. Still excited. For yers, there was no expectation in my mind – whatsoever – that Naomi Campbell, Eva Herzigova, Cindy Crawford, Helena Christensen and Yasmin Le Bon would ever end up in a photoshoot together. Amazingly, years past the ‘supermodel era’, Harper’s Bazaar UK have them on the cover!
The nineties legends are posing to promote the upcoming debut of Duran Duran‘s music video for “Girl Panic” in which the five supermodels have been cast as the actual band (not such a stretch, as Yasmin is married to Duran Duran frontman Simon Le Bon).
Girl Panic‘s director, Jonas Akerlund (best recognised for his direction in Lady Gaga’s videos for Paparazzi and Telephone), also shot the spread, hinting that the whole enchilada is going to be exceptionally fashion-packed.
I am so happy! I hope you’re happy, too! If not – let Arthur Elgort‘s photoshoot for the September 2011 issue of Japanese Vogue make you happy! It is full of Giovanna Battaglia-styled Fall/Winter 2011 goodness from Burberry Prorsum, Dolce & Gabbana, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Lanvin, Calvin Klein, Fendi and more. “In Love With The City” is street style at it’s most impressive. If that’s not enough to make you smile, then Karlie Kloss will surely do the trick. View Post
“The Goldfish” for Vs. Magazine’s Spring/Summer 2011 issue is my favourite photoshoot of the year, hands down. I have never seen anything quite like it. Firstly, you have the unique and curvaceous beauty of Lily Cole styled perfectly by Vibe Dabelsteen. Secondly, photographer Paolo Ventura has taken an artistic concept completely outside of the box, delivering photographs that wouldn’t feel out of place in a prestigious gallery. Blown away. PSH! First I post a Best of Tumblr dedicated to photobooths and then Karl Lagerfeld decides to shoot Freja Beha Erichsen in a photobooth for his Fall/Winter 2011 Chanel campaign? COINCIDENCE? Well, yes. I must say, it feels pretty good to have the same direction/appreciation as the photoshoot’s stylist – and my personal hero – Carine Roitfeld. View Post
Awesome movie alert. Cast? Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Rose Byrne, Ellie Kemper, and Melissa McCarthy. I’m talking about Bridesmaids – the movie where a celebratory girls night out unfolds into drunken wallet domination. This “Hangover” for women is set to be a mega hit, and therefore has been celebrated in Harper’s Bazaar with a photoshoot named “The Bridesmaids’ Shopover“. Styled by Amanda Ross, the Anders Overgaard shoot is playful perfection and has an Abbey Road photo reenactment to boot. View Post
