Roberto Cavalli Ad

Roberto Cavalli does Italian glamour with an edge. When Brigitte Bardot helped launch his career in the Seventies, his aesthetic was sold as interesting, dark flamboyance. When I think of the talented designer’s best pieces, I see texture, movement and sexuality that I have attempted to portray in the ad above.

Thank you for all your wonderful feedback for Fashion Spot thus far! It is definitely a highlight of my blogging week. As a gift, I give you Roberto Cavalli – in denim on denim – riding a Segway in Cannes this past week. Homeslice is 70.

Louis Vuitton Fall Winter 2011
Sex sells, and Louis Vuitton just reminded us. With a Fall/Winter collection full of voluptuous silhouettes, handcuffs (attaching eighteen-carat gold handbags to model’s wrists), and high waisted lingerie boy shorts – it was clear that “fashion” and “fetish” are interchangable for Marc Jacobs. With such straightforward sexuality leaking out of the set’s elevators, the garments remained committed to Vuitton sophistication – it’s obviously time we stopped wearing pants, ladies. The show also featured the best casting of the season – Kate Moss (who closed the show, smoking), Raquel Zimmerman, Naomi Campbell, Amber Valletta and more. See the top five looks below! View Post

Gentlewoman Navy Tanga Moreau
As heavy on satire as The Gentlewoman can get away with, Tanga Moreau was styled by Jodie Barnes in “Navy” across West Kensington and Chelsea (holla). Why do I love it? This has no intention of being “pretty” or evoking fashionable sexuality. This is tongue-in-cheek “high fashion” on the stomping grounds I know and love. Opera claps for Anuschka Blommers and Niels Schumm on camera. View Post
