Seems like we are only one of a few people to catch Stefano Gabbana‘s blink-and-you-miss-it slip up via Tumblr. After Vogue sent the Dolce & Gabbana designer an advanced copy of the issue, a cellphone shot confirmed the June cover model to be Penelope Cruz! (The post was quickly deleted from internet record).
I just received a june Dolce moment in Vogue USA Thank you Anna!!!!! :-)))

We have come to find out that the flawless actress wears the brand both on the cover – shot by Mario Testino – and in the accompanying spread. Was the cover shot on film? It is an absolute aesthetic treat, and total departure from actress covers of the past ten years. Best of the past decade, for sure.
Warning: another Eighties erruption at Dolce & Gabbana, and it was a star-studded affair. Literally. Like last season, show attendees were greeted with giant screens broadcasting via the backstage commotion, with barely-there peaks at the collection of ingénue actuality. There was a certain ‘he wore/she wore’ air – whether present on an androgynous beauty in menswear or the angled haute-ies in their epicine best. Lush, mega-monopolizing garments in any light. I always loved Alphabet Soup. My apparent blood brothers – Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce – look they they do, too. For Fall/Winter 2011’s D&G show, roughly 100 alphabet-inspired separates were asking us to spare a fashionable vowel. The collection carefully reflected the super style soundtrack – Madonna’s “Vogue”. It was stupendous, neon elaborance at it’s best. See the top five looks below! View Post
If there are two ladies I would like to have a civil partnership with, they would be Jenny McCarthy and Chelsea Handler. No holds barred. Though they aren’t my fashion inspiration per se, there were two great fashion moments on their interview together on Chelsea Lately last week that you’ve got to see:
1) Jenny McCarthy’s story from MTV Europe’s Video Music Awards in Milan where she was dressed by Dolce & Gabbana, and ended up as the partial cause of Stefano Gabbana harrasment. (Starts at 3:18)
2) Their shoes!

Stefano Gabbana is no fan of Stella McCartney. Welcome to the unsafe world of Twitter conversations. @stefanogabbana, @fabioviscovo and @stellamccartney drama shall ensue. Something tells me this naughty Italian knows exactly what he’s doing.
Fabio Viscovo – I LOVE Stella McCartney!
Stefano Gabbana – who ??????
Fabio Viscovo – ahahaha! You don’t like Stella McCartney?!
Stefano Gabbana – Who ????? The daughter of the singer ?????
Fabio Viscovo – Yeeees! Stella McCartney, the designer !!!!!
Fabio Viscovo – Stefanoooooooo, please !!!!! You don’t know Stella’s a stylist ?????
Stefano Gabbana – What’s she known for?? What’s her specialty??
Stefano Gabbana – What sort of style does she do? What’s so special about it??
Fabio Viscovo – She makes a lot of minimalist sequined dresses… … .. they’re really feminine. They’re perfect for a nude look!
Fabio Viscovo – Come on! You’ve just got to have seen them! And although she’s really famous … she’s still an upcoming designer!
Stefano Gabbana – Yeah, she’s upcoming after 15 years doing nothing!! Hahahaha
Stefano Gabbana – Aaaaaaa …… I see you appreciate nonentities!! Bravo!
