…in stockings and sandy Louboutins! August 2011’s Vogue Paris cover is awesome, no? We have a Dominatrix-esque Lara Stone, photographed by Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, searching the skies next to a blue cadillac as a plane flies over her head. Princess Leia on the beach? Whatever the inspiration is…I love it.
I have been waiting for this! V Magazine‘s cover for issue #71 was going to be a gamechanger as soon as they announced that the edition would be wholly asian-themed. Lady Gaga is only appropriate, isn’t she? While the world watches her every movie, this double-covered take on Madame Butterfly and asian thematics will make the uninformed media sit up and pay attention.
After being the cover model for their past two September issues (the most important issue of the year for any publication), the photographs – shot by Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin – feel eternally resonant. Of course, the styling was done by her Super Stylist Sidekick Nicola Formichetti.
Emmanuelle Alt‘s first cover as Editor in Chief of Vogue Paris is here! For the April issue, Gisele Bündchen was shot in St. Barth’s wearing a white Dolce & Gabbana Spring/Summer 2011 dress, and was shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. I love that the cover is Balmain-less, natural, and spared of accessories; it is such a departure from Alt’s ‘edgy’ reputation.
In my time as a make-up artist for Chanel, I never dreamed of using their cosmetics to create something so fabulous. In Vogue Paris’ “Expression Figurative”, we get a final glimpse of Carine Roitfeld‘s beauty legacy. Shot by Inez & Vinoodh (Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin), Anna de Rijk is the canvas of creativity for stylist Melanie Ward, and essentially an inspiration to the makeup gurus of Youtube alike. Though the final cover of Vogue Paris under Carine Roitfeld has yet to be decided, Emmanuelle Alt‘s first cover girl has just been revealed. To take on her new role as Editor in Chief in the April issue, Emmanuelle is pulling out a safe and glossy Gisele Bündchen. The snooze-worthy supermodel choice was snapped in St. Barts by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. The first Emmanuelle Alt only-directed issue will be in August.
