colour block fashion
Because I am off to New York in just over two weeks, my mind has been keeping busy melding ideas in efforts to be a sartorially smart tourist*. I’m simply not the kind of woman to don a visor and a fanny pack (and hope that unless you’ve just time travelled from 1980, you aren’t either). I feel like – from the Shake Shack to the Top of The Rock – the look above is going to be my basic Manhattan uniform. Ease, colour, and a removable layer if the weather calls for it.

If this was an episode of F.R.I.E.N.D.S, it would be “The One Where You Find Out I’m Addicted to eBay“. You smart ones will probably guess why.

Truth be told – as it was told in the best fashion book in the world – I can never bring myself to fork out the big bucks for trends that I know I will wear for a few months or less. Wedged trainers are one of those trends. These fabulous eBay interpretations are my new saving grace. When a surprisingly rare sunshiney day popped out of the blue yesterday, it called for easy breezy beautiful. Channeling MC Hammer in high-tops for next to nothing? An affordable delight.

Dress: Handmade.

casual louboutins
When laying in a window sill, it is important to remember to:
a) Wear heels. Especially if you’re short. It can be a big drop from the ledge.
b) Match those heels to a cardigan, ie. “Do not interrupt me. I am obviously intentionally cozy and have killer heels to protect that state”.
c) Bare some skin. Your legs could potentially get a trendy curtain-patterned tan.

coachella fashion
It hasn’t exactly been Coachella weather over here in ol’ Blighty. *rings out hair*

Thankfully, Motilo have been running an “Americana” (aka Coachella-perfect) competition on their site, and thus have TONS of summery inspiration floating around their mood boards. Crank up the heating, get in your feather headdress/bikini, and taa daa – it’s almost like you’re watching Kasabian in sunny California.

The mood board details:
J Brand – Atomic Denim Jacket
Spell – Warrior Feather Headband
Opening Ceremony – Striped Raffia Sandals
Jerome Dreyfuss – Momo Python, Suede And Karung Mini Shoulder Bag
Jemma Kidd – Rosy Glow Lip & Cheek Tint
Chanel – Le Vernis Nail Colour In Mimosa
cos – A-Line Wool Skirt (underneath)
and
Miu Miu – Faille Miniskirt

floral print trousers
After deciding to spend the entire day parading around in a skirt, the weather decided to hang out at roughly 8°C since I left the house today. Turns out, it was a lucky misfortune. What better opportunity/excuse could there be to buy some floral-print trousers?

(Pictured: MTV print tee, H&M cigarette pants, and handmade heels. Though I kind of want to add these and these to my collection, now…)

P.S. Excuse the office/bomb site.
