Day Five of NYFW – Halston

Halston Presentation NYFW
Halston was repping the bare summer skin and all the ways you can show it. Although Halston’s designer, Marios Schwab, departed from disco-fever wear last season, the iconic seventies brand’s signature sentiment was back for Spring 2011 this past Monday at New York Fashion Week.

Split into all black, white, camel, coral, nude, and sequined sets, the overarching theme of the collection was body-conscious clothing that showed flashes of bare skin, thanks to peek-a-boo cutouts and one-shoulder silhouettes. There were unexpected space-age prints, while a series of fluid jersey dresses in solid colors came alive with involved drapes and folds that made them our runaway favorites. The pro piece was a strapless ivory-pink cocktail dress with dramatic drapes and folds.
