Kanye West Shoes

  • In an issue dedicated to celebrating the relationship between music and fashion, V magazine’s “The Queen Of Hip Hop” editorial appropriately features a top, skirt and shoes from Kanye West‘s debut collection.

  • The former managing director of Hermes France, Bruno Guillon, has recently joined British fashion label Mulberry as their new chief executive. He plans to help heavily transition the brand into Asian markets.

  • Boardwalk Empire actor Michael Pitt is the official face of Prada’s Spring/Summer 2012 menswear campaign – a David Sims-lensed look at the golden age Hollywood icon. According to the brand, Pitt “explores the language of male role models from the rock star to the playboy, from the self-reflective introvert to the engaging and humorous farceur. […] Contemporary men work when they play and play when they work. The boundaries are no longer clear – as the campaign’s simple props and gestures emphasize.”

Unfortunately, I can only see him as a psychopath. Thanks, Funny Games.

  • DKNY is supplying the New York Rangers with their practice jerseys for the rest of the season! Never before have I wanted to be a hockey player!

  • GQ has awarded Jared Leto with the title of 2011’s worst dressed man, for looking “extravagantly terrible all year long.”

  • Though cotton topped out at $2.12 this year, prices have just dropped to 86.4 cents a pound. A step in the right direction!

  • Who’s face/body/photoshopping earned magazines the most moolah, this year? Jennifer Aniston, Heidi Klum, and Sarah Jessica Parker!

Sarah Jessica Parker‘s Elle, Vogue, and Marie Claire covers were the second or third best-sellers for each publication; Heidi Klum‘s Lucky and Glamour covers were both magazines’ second best performers, and Jennifer Aniston gave Marie Claire its best-selling issue in July and pulled in major sales for her November Elle cover.

Who didn’t do so well? Reese Witherspoon, whose covers marked below-average sales for Vogue, Marie Claire, and Glamour. Interestingly, magazines with Kim Kardashian on the cover were doing well in the beginning of 2011, yet as her so-called ‘sham’ marriage unfolded the numbers have started to look very poor.

  • Singer John Legend proposed to model Chrissy Teigen this past weekend while they were on vacation in the Maldives! WEDDING PHOTO EXCITEMENT.

  • Alessandra Ambrosio just announced that she is pregnant with her second child! The model and her fiance, Jamie Mazur, already have a 3-year-old, and are looking forward to adding another member to the family in five months time.

Yes, that does mean she was pregnant with strutting her flawless body down the Victorias Secret Fashion Show runway. Weep with me.

  • Stella Tennant Italian Vogue Planking

    • You’ve seen the Vogue Italia cover, now you can see Stella Tennant planking in the accompanying editorial.
    • Apparently, though the CFDA has a recommended age limit of 16 for models walking in shows, it has been reported that 14-year-old Kylie Jenner (of the “Kardashian Klan“) will walk in Avril Lavigne’s Abbey Dawn show during Fashion Week. I guess when Avril’s boyfriend is Kylie’s half-brother (Brody Jenner), the rules need not apply. Both Kim and Kourtney Kardashian are expected to sit front row at the show.
    • Fashion designer Nicole Miller will feature as one of the designers getting advice from Joe Zee in the second series of his Sundance show “All On The Line“.
    • “Have you noticed how much make-up girls are wearing these days? It’s because it’s cheaper than buying clothes. I love beauty products. At Gucci I’d spend days working with a make-up artist getting the show to look right. I was never drawn to walking in women’s shoes that’s maybe why some of them hurt. I never had a desire to wear the clothes. I’m probably the only man in England who doesn’t want to dress in drag. But make-up? That I’m serious about.” – Tom Ford to the Telegraph
    • Blonde model trend! First there was Heidi Klum with Project Runway, then there was Angela Lindvall who was recently picked to host a special all-star edition of Project Runway. Now? Fellow sunshine blonde Molly Sims is commandeering the latest Runway spinoff, Project Accessory.
    • When asked what he would save if his house were burning down Kaiser Karl Lagerfeld responded, “Which house? I have several.” Not newsworthy, but note-worthy.

    Project Runway Apply
Since I don’t have the resources to give you $100,000 and a show at New York Fashion Week, I am going to have to urge you to apply for Project Runway. Yes, you, Future Fashion Designer! Follow in the footsteps of Christian Siriano by appyling for Season 9 of the hit show, and be sure to say hello to Tim Gunn for me.

    Jenny Packham Fall Winter 2011
Jenny Packham was putting on the Lincoln Center glitz with Heidi Klum Juniors for her Fall/Winter 2011 masterpiece. For a 9am show, it was impossible not to feel the energy of the diamante-wrapped gowns and crystallized pieces. Every item was a ‘showstopper’, a ‘red carpet moment‘, and/or ‘I’ll wear whatever she’s wearing’. Prepare for tulle, beads, and fabulosity. See the top five looks below! View Post

City Cover Heidi Klum RankinOne of my favourites, City Magazine, is back to print and on their superb fall fashion cover is non other than supermodel Heidi Klum. Rankin is helping in the channeling Marlene Dietrich.
