PPQ Fall Winter 2011
I am having Veruca Salt-cravings for a cat hat, Amy Molyneaux and Percy Parker. In fact, I think all of your designs for PPQ Fall/Winter 2011 are exceeding brilliance. The accessories alone were wholly covetable: platforms with feathers and fine fabric features, ice cube-sheathed evening bags, mega buttons, and more! While the bonkers eclipsed the show, there were some sublime pieces with simple silhouettes. Deep down, everyone wants to be a PPQ girl. See the top five looks below! View Post

Alice + Olivia Fall Winter 2011
Alice + Olivia presented their jazz-age collection in the grand entrance of the Plaza Hotel: we’re knee deep in cool points. The flapper-inspired collection was so delightful and verdant, that the Plaza’s own Eloise would indeed have been enamoured. Designer – and the gorgeously pregnant – Stacey Bendet gets extra credit for putting the newfangled Gatsby girls in sky-high platforms. See the top five looks below! View Post

Miu Miu PFW Runway Anais Pouliot
It’s always nice to end on a neon note. Miuccia Prada wrapped up the four main worldwide Fashion Weeks at Miu Miu with a Seventies bow and a soundtrack that strangely featured dialogue from Flashdance, Cheryl Cole and the X Factor. With a timeless mix of “Oh my God” pieces and extreme elegance, there were individual quirks to each piece like stylised swan prints. Wait about two months and you’ll see these items on every magazine shelf you walk by. Thus ends Spring/Summer 2011. Excuse me while I throw my platforms at the wall and slip into a fashion coma. Vivienne Westwood ShoesAn extensive collection of Vivienne Westwood shoes from across four decades will be shown in Selfridges’ Ultralounge this week! For the first time in the UK, the iconic British fashion designer will showcase nearly 200 of her most stunning shoes – from her old archives to her newest collections – in Vivienne Westwood Shoes: An Exhibition – 1973-2010.

Opening on August 26th with free entry, the exhibition traces Vivienne Westwood’s exceptional career to date and some of her most memorable designs.

“Shoes must have very high heels and platforms to put women’s beauty on a pedestal.”

Pixie Lott at the Duke of Essex PoloThe “Duke Of Essex Polo Cup”* was held at Gaynes Park in Epping, Essex this weekend and Pixie Lott showed up wearing a very straightforward Little Black Dress (LBD) from Moschino Spring 2010.

She paired it with a matchy-matchy small Chanel clutch and my dream shoes – in regards to platforms with cats on them – from Miu Miu Spring 2010. It’s a definite accesory win.

* Yeah, I have no idea either.
