You gotta swing your hips now
That’s right, you’re doing fine
Come on, baby
Jump up, Jump Back

This skirt is one of those garments that forces you to dance. No apologies for the blur in these photos, my darlings. Christmas party-palooza!

What I Wore – handmade bodycon dress with exaggerated shoulders (let’s be honest…it’s a bit tight…I typically try to avoid hoisted my chest up to my chin), polka-dotted tiered skirt, and black tights.

Carolina Herrera Fall Winter 2011
Carolina Herrera has just confirmed that she knows how to work the neck and shoulders of a woman, but her talent doesn’t falter from there. This is a woman who feels amorous towards details. Not only were gloves and belts embroidered for her Fall/Winter 2011 show, but she even embroidered a gown to create a colourful, wearable oil slick. Every garment’s pigments were atypical; gunmetal, water, rust, shine, it was all a pleasure to witness. View Post

Viktor and Rolf PFW Runway Frida Gustavsson
I hear all you need to create a masterpiece is a plain shirt, though I would probably add the Dutch duo of Viktor and Rolf to seal the deal. Their goal for Paris Fashion Week was to inspire femininity through the white-collared wardrobe staple, and boy did they. We saw dresses with lengthy personality disorders, gathered Elizabethan shoulders, collar multiplicity, and gowns that were lending themselves to cubism. It was a nip and tuck affair, and delightful from beginning to a “White Wedding” end. View Post

Victorias Secret Fashion Show 2010 Sneak Peak Sketches
The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is somewhat of a cultural phenomenon, even in countries where the stores don’t exist. While the show won’t premiere until November 30th on CBS (US), a sneak peek of the costume sketches have already been revealed.

The two sketches show a model in a long hooded purple boxing robe with flames shooting up the hem and the cheeky play-on-words “Knock Out” scribbled on the back. The other ensemble includes a plaid bra and knicker set worn with a sculptural waistcoat accented by puffed out shoulders and hips. I cannot wait for the infamous wings and more seductive fashion moments from Adriana Lima, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Candice Swanepoel, Chanel Iman, and the rest of the beauties.
