Swim 2013
This little bit of sun has got us all in true summer mode; we’re running out to roof gardens, booking our holidays and looking for the perfect swimwear. Thankfully, with the range of swimsuits, bikinis and tankinis already out on the market there are plenty of options to keep our credit cards busy and help us maintain that all-important holiday spirit.

This season’s swimwear is bursting with bright block colours, floral and dotted 1950’s-inspired styles, as well as fun and flirty romantic frills: all perfect for enhancing that summer glow and leaving you looking stylish and confident on that much deserved holiday. As designers become increasingly in tune with the trends and emulate Spring/Summer 2013 styles onto the swimwear market, there is also an array of cuts to choose from. Expect to find halter necks, bandeau’s, balconett styles and more (enough to flatter any shape or style, for those of you a little timid when it comes to baring it on the beach!).

To be fair, even though you can find swimwear to squeeze, to push up, and to flatter in all the right places, swimwear cannot – unfortunately – work miracles. In order to make the most of that brand new swimwear, I highly suggest making a few small changes to get yourself feeling and looking your best. Light preparation is all it takes to get your body prepared! Simply try cutting down on unhealthy foods, up the ante on the exercise regime, drink water, avoid alcohol and go crazy with the body exfoliator and moisturiser of your choice.

By the time summer comes around you will be entirely prepared to strut your stuff in style with a brand new, fabulously flattering bikini, tankini or swimsuit. Body proud.

To kick off the search for your perfect swimwear and the holiday wardrobe to match, visit bonprix.co.uk – we’re talking a range of pieces that are bang on trend and available in a range of sizes.

clarks heels ss12
Last week, I took a trip to the Metropolitan Hotel to celebrate some of the lastest and greatest shoes from Clarks! It was a fabulous event, and such a pleasure (slash wallet-threatener) to see the most beautiful designs available incorporate in Britain’s Spring/Summer wardrobes.

The shoes above (left to right):
Scent Bottle in White Leather
Purple Nubuck Shea Cashmere heels
Scent Bottle in Blue Suede

I encourage you to take a look through all of Clarks’ shoes – all cute, all comfortable. I also want to take this chance to say hello to the lovely winners of the competition! It is always so heartwarming to have someone say they love your blog, and you both were such sweet girls. I hope you enjoyed your evening/suite/candy/burgers/champagne, etc! xo

Louis Vuitton SS12
Though the full campaign has yet to be released, I have astronomically high hopes for Louis Vuitton‘s Spring/Summer 2012 ad campaign. With models Daria Strokous and Kati Nescher snapped in a candy-coated colour dream scheme, the collection (thus far) has really been brought to life. It begs for a second glance, which is something I feel such a monumental fashion campaign should hold to the highest priority. Only Steven Meisel could have photographed this to this degree of perfection. View Post

Hailee Steinfeld Banned Ad

  • Though there have been provocative ads featuring young teenage models left untouched by ad regulations for years, a photo of teenage actress Hailee Steinfeld sitting by a train track has been banned in the UK. The image – part of Miu Miu‘s Fall/Winter campaign – was banned for being “irresponsible because it depicted a child in an unsafe location”, to which I say…

I feel like wearing snakes as clothes.

  • Carolina Herrera has announced that she plans to produce the wedding dress she designed for Kristen Stewart (aka Bella Swan) in Twilight: Breaking Dawn. I can only imagine the type of themed weddings that will come out of this!

“I wanted to create a magical moment that they had at the wedding. She’s an innocent girl that is finding her first true love, so there is romance, there is magic, there is everything together.”

  • Two of my favourite models (and rumoured sapphic sisters), Freja Beha Erichsen and Arizona Muse, were photographed hanging out at Los Angeles’ Chateau Marmont this past weekend wearing two dresses from Chloé’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection. This, without the brand overtly saying so, suggests that the duo have booked the campaign!

  • Naomi Campbell continues her decades-long world takeover by becoming editor-at-large for the new German and Russian editions of Interview Magazine. According to the official press release, Naomi will “regularly meet great and outstanding personalities for this in-depth feature interview”.

  • Your daily dose of Karl Lagerfeld…coming up! International newspaper “Metro” (everyone’s favourite half-asleep morning read) has appointed Uncle Karl as “guest editor” for a day at Metro’s Paris offices on February 7th, 2012.

As “Metro” launches it’s Autumn/Winter 2012 show coverage the same day – it will be brilliant press for him. He intends to provide his infamous commentary as well as some of his gorgeous illustrations.

And there’s something in it for you, too! Though it hasn’t been launched yet, there will be a global web site launched where you can submit your “fashion statements” to a Look Book competition for a chance to fly to Paris and be an editorial assistant on February 6th, and lots of Lagerfeld swag, to boot.

  • Alexander McQueen‘s junior, lower-priced line – “McQ” – is opening a flagship store on Dover Street in London in Spring of next year! Preceding the opening, the line will also premiere it’s first-ever show for London Fashion Week.
