Skivvies is a great word, isn’t it? Almost on par with underoos. Whichever word you prefer to use for the small pieces of fabric between our clothes and bodies, here are some photos of Rihanna in them. In an Armani underwear campaign shot by Steven Klein for Fall/Winter 2011, the beautiful songstress sports newly chopped and peroxided hair – but not much else. You have to give it to her, the mix of Rihanna’s flawless physique and a Lincoln Continental could sell anyone Armani’s lingerie. View Post
Kanye West strikes again. This is just beyond. Judging from the above preview of the (FINALLY made) video for “Monster”, Kanye has taken a leaf out of the success of his ultra-fashionable video for “Runaway“. Contrasting from that success, the Monster music video is, well, a haute haunt. With lifeless models and a very creepy crawly Nicki Minaj, I am on the edge of my seat waiting for the full release. (Does it remind anyone else of the old Lara Stone Film Noir video by Steven Klein? Video under the cut.)
Vogue Paris celebrates it’s 90th anniversary this month with a special issue to be released on September 27th containing 624 pages of surprises. On the cover, Lara Stone wears only a lace mask, gloves and choker to illustrate the masquerade theme of the issue.
In addition, Vogue Paris will launch its first iPad app which will include a mini animation film directed by Steven Klein, a video clip shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, and a ‘Making Of’ beauty session with Mario Sorrenti. As a bonus, Carine Roitfeld even comments the photographs of the portfolio on the iPad. Exciting!
Vogue is in some “Dangerous Liaisons” with photographer Steven Klein for their October issue. Let’s face it, Lara Stone can do no wrong and Jeremy Renner is a more-than-capable sidekick. View Post
The October issue of French Vogue, never one to do what the other guys were doing for the sake of fitting in, will total 622 pages. Carine Roitfeld favourite Lara Stone will appear on the cover of this issue, which marks the magazine’s 75th anniversary and hits newsstands on September 10th. The issue includes:
– 276 pages of ads, which is 110 pages more than last year’s October issue.
– 104 pages of congratulations from all kinds of designers, because fashion loves a back scratch.
– 150 pages of features, shot by photographers like Mario Sorrenti, David Sims, Terry Richardson, Steven Klein, Hedi Slimane, Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, and Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.
– Inès de la Fressange’s 11-year-old daughter modeling the little black dress (shot by Slimane).
And anyone willing to hop over the channel can buy the issue bundled with a “portfolio of oversize photographs from the nine decades, all unbound on thick paper and ready to frame”. JEALOUS.
