Probably my favourite look from Leighton Meester as of late was the ensemble she wore to attend a screening of ‘The Woman Dress’. The film was a short, directed by Giada Colagrande, that was part of a series of films that explore women’s love affair with Miu Miu. Leighton’s Prada Spring/Summer 2012 dress was a divine choice for her shape, and an unexpected choice for a Miu Miu event.
The version she wore had a deeper plunge and an altered print to the runway version, but the lemon-coloured skirt was untouched. I think I actually prefer this bodice to the runway version.
For the beginning of Fashion Week, Leighton attended the amfAR New York Gala wearing a Louis Vuitton Pre-Fall 2012 dress. This dress was one of my favourites of the season, so I am ecstatic that Leighton ended up wearing it on the red carpet. Critics, however, seem to have quite a problem with her hair at this event.
A garment perhaps a little too fashion-forward for such soft, feminine curls? The Louis Vuitton sequined bag she carried was gorgeous, but I may have to agree, the hair and shoes weren’t as edgy as I would hope for with the styling of this dress.
On her way to Vera Wang’s show for Autumn/Winter 2012, Leighton wore a Stella McCartney A/W 2010 Coat, green printed Vera Wang V-Neck Dress, yellow Giuseppe Zanotti Cutout Suede Sandals, and the Bvlgari Serpenti handag. Street style at it’s best – the ‘girly curls’ really work here.
It’s been a while since the last Leighton Meester Style update, hasn’t it? Thankfully, as Gossip Girl Season 5 kicks off later this month (September 26, 8pm on The CW!), our real-life Blair Waldorf has been out and about more often. Most recently, Leighton performed with her band Check in The Dark at the Tiffany’s & Co. boutique during Fashion’s Night Out in New York City. She actress-cum-singer-cum-fashionista opted for an effortless, sky blue, cloud-printed Carven Resort 2012 maxi dress.
She chose to accessorize with ballet flats from Roger Vivier and Tiffany & Co. jewellery – silver, hooped earrings and a matching silver necklace with a star-shaped charm. Brilliantly bohemian yet polished.
Earlier, as the face of Vera Wang’s fragrance “Lovestruck“, she made an appearance the launch of the new scent in a lemon sorbet-coloured, ruched chiffon dress from Vera Wang Lavender Label along with the “Esam” platform pump by Jimmy Choo.
Yesterday, Leighton Meester partied on across to pond to launch the Vera Wang‘s new fragrance – Lovestruck – in Harrods. Obviously, she wore Vera Wang for the occassion. Her Pre-Fall 2011 leather pants were the perfect addition to a rose-coloured, pleated blouse from Vera’s Fall/Winter 2001 collection. To compliment the outfit, she wore Brian Atwood‘s “Rina” sandals and Dannijo jewels. You see the ball leaving the park?
Yes! Leighton Meester is back on the style circuit. Above, we have the official ad for Vera Wang’s “Lovestruck” fragrance – shot by Carter Smith – which Leighton is the spokesmodel for. The ad is a little bit Pretty Woman and unnecessarily Photoshopped, though brush off-able. C’mon, it’s Leighton.
For the fragrance launch, Meester wore a Vera Wang Pre-Spring 2011 top and pants, Roger Vivier shoes, and Cathy Waterman jewellery.
Later on, she joined Vera Wang to light up the Empire State Building. The landmark was illuminated in red and white to raise awareness about DKMS, the world’s largest bone marrow donor center. With ombre hair, Leighton paired a beige Vera Wang Fall/Winter 2011 sleeveless top with a body-lengthening Vera Wang Spring/Summer 2011 floral print skirt. Toffee-coloured Brian Atwood “Debra” slingbacks completed her outfit.
FINALLY – yes, this is all in one day – she attended the DKMS Gala in a Vera Wang Pre-Fall 2011 dress, Cathy Waterman Diamond Leaf Drop Earrings, and the same Brian Atwood heels. Let’s hope she had today off.
For Fall/Winter 2011, Vera Wang stuck to her strength: subtle (and first-class) separates, winter-ized by sublime outerwear. With details including pleating that you would expect from a couturier, the collection had a blueblooded English feel conjoined with 1930s taste. Those possessing time machines shall be inspired, indeed. See the top five looks below! View Post
