Welcome to your special Royal Wedding edition of Fashion Spot.
Alexander McQueen is my most adored British brand, which makes it extremely appropriate for today’s nuptials between HRH Prince William and Catherine ‘Kate’ Middleton. Take note of the ultra-sheer Union Jack. Though I’d adore to see Kate in a longer version of designer Sarah Burton‘s butterfly gown (seen here), my source tells me that Kate’s wedding dress is actually a vintage McQueen piece that Lee designed himself – with Burton taking care of the dress fittings. Hooray, hooray – Reese Witherspoon just got married to Jim Toth! For her storybook-like big day, she chose a custom-made, pink Monique Lhuillier wedding dress. She is obviously taking tips from Elle Woods. Anyone remember the same shade of blush for her character’s nuptials in Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde?
Reese Witherspoon‘s nuptials to CAA Agent Jim Toth are fast approaching, and a little birdie has confirmed that her dress will be designed by Monique Lhuillier. With a hyper-geared workout regime (hot vinyasa yoga classes, anyone?), the gorgeous actress is dedicating a lot of her time getting wedding-ready and ‘picture perfect‘. Not only that, but the Water for Elephants star is also going to be Vogue US‘ May cover model. I pray they don’t get on the Rihanna train, and let Grace Coddington get her paws on the creative process.
Nicole Richie‘s wedding to Joel Madden reportedly happened a few hours ago. After embarking on a trip to New York last week, we can safely assume that her wedding dress has been made by Marchesa as she visited their studio in the Big Apple for a fitting with her stylist, Simone Harouche. Photos will be added as I receive them!
Zac Posen's Wedding Dress for Carrie Bradshaw (Sex and The City)
The reliable rumour mill – if such a thing exists – has been whispering that Zac Posen
has been chosen to design Bella Swan
‘s Victorian-inspired wedding dress for the expected mega-hit Twilight: Breaking Dawn
. In the best-selling book
the dress is described as a garment which “stepped out of an [Jane] Austen movie,” you know, tulle, lace, on the edge of gaudy
. Supposedly, Kristen Stewart
– the actress who plays Bella – had some input in picking the dress, but claimed that it was “pretty much up to [Twilight author] Stephanie Meyer
” to find The Dress
. With the mass of absolutely mental vampire/werewolf/Robert Pattinson
fans eagerly awaiting a first look, Zac has a lot of expectations to fulfil.
