Armani Prive Fall Couture 2011
Thus far, I have been relatively unimpressed by the showings of Fall 2011’s Couture Fashion Week. Giorgio Armani‘s collection for Armani PrivĂ© – “Hommage au Japon” – however, is an exception.

As the title suggests, Giorgio was profoundly moved by March’s earthquake and tsunami in Japan, and thus dedicated the collection to the refinery, aesthetic and beauty of the troubled country. Vivid florals were paired with heavy velvets, obi belts, shapely silhouettes and directionally profound shapes. Though it came at the very end, the tangerine embroidered top and black sequin skirt was the collection’s perfection. Absolutely beautiful in every way.

They have to be pretty peeved that Penelope Cruz has stolen all the style, eh? Last night, she flew solo at the “Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” premiere in Munich, Germany while wearing this lustful red Armani PrivĂ© Spring/Summer 2011 gown. Differing from the runway version, the actress took the dress from off-shoulder straps to long sleeved and I’ve never seen a sexier alteration.
