Last Day of NYFW – J Mendel

J Mendel Runway NYFW
Gilles Mendel for J.Mendel – the collection was a breath of fresh air in what had been a subdued New York Fashion Week. Looks were easy, happy, desirable, and fun. Skirt lengths were either super short, or calf or ankle length. Some were knife-pleated (a big Spring trend), while others were fitted and shirred. The palette was tight with the above mentioned neutrals and pops of bright orange and peach.

I loved that long lengths were paired with flat shoes, including chiffon fishtail gowns. Hair was wild and free, skin clean and lips bright. Christian Louboutin razor thin wedges were wrapped in bright coral silk faille bands and the coolest look (or Springiest?) was a silver slinky long sleeve fitted top over a whisp of pleated buff chiffon.
