A/W 2012′s Top Models – Behind The Camera
Zuzanna Bijoch A/W 2012 was one of my favourite ‘model seasons’ to date. Mixed in with the supers were a plethora of up-and-coming beauties: from Zuzanna Bijoch (above) to the i-D cover model Lina Zhang, there was a lot of fabulous werk happening in New York, London, Paris and Milan. One model even walked 73 shows! Versace, Lanvin, Christian Dior, and Jean Paul Gaultier followed suit.)...
Louis V’s Candy-Coated Campaign
Though the full campaign has yet to be released, I have astronomically high hopes for Louis Vuitton‘s Spring/Summer 2012 ad campaign. With models Daria Strokous and Kati Nescher snapped in a candy-coated colour dream scheme, the collection (thus far) has really been brought to life. It begs for a second glance, which is something I feel such a monumental fashion campaign should hold to the highest priority. Only Steven Meisel could have photographed this to this degree of perfection....
Your Majesty
Flare magazine has stood up and got me to notice them. In reference to their spread, “Your Majesty“, for their November 2011 issue…all I can say is “wow”. I would not change a thing about these Chris Nicholls photographs. Fashion stylist Fiona Green has used models Emily Fox, Finlay Moore and ‘Dani’ brilliantly, displaying an aristocracy, romanticism, and affluence that reads frictionlessly. Using a bold Comme des Garcons print on a little girl? Genius. With a healthy dose of Givenchy and some exaggerated proportions, Flare can enjoy this month’s very fashionable reign....
Glacial Glamour
I love the way Vincent Peters‘ photography incorporates multiple uses of layering and lighting adjustments, yet can be viewed seamlessly. In the photographer’s spread for the November 2011 issue of Vogue Russia, “Glacial Glamour“, Ginta Lapiņa and her equally-extraordinary background models are set to seductive perfection. Ekaterina Mukhina did a beautiful job with the styling, as well....
Erjona Ala – Behind The Camera
If there was one model that made a big impression on me during fashion week, it had to be Erjona Ala. The 16 year old Norwegian Ford model managed to walk a whopping 64 shows for Spring/Summer 2012 – more than any other newcomer, by far (the full show breakdown is below). On top of that, she is a truly lovely girl, with an interesting dichotomy between her presence and her age. An androgynous type of Veronica Lake beauty, who became a model simply because she “wanted to try”. Her youth is endearingly apparent in interviews, as she quotes her...
