Versace for H&M

This week, the Versace x H&M lookbook was finally released. Thankfully, it did not disappoint in any way! The 50-piece collection features dresses, skirts, leggings, scarves, handbags, shoes, belts, menswear, jewelry, and even homeware. Impressively, many of the prints, products and palettes seem to have been drawn almost straight from the archives. Value for money, in my eyes!

That said, it isn’t going to translate as ‘value‘ if we go out and buy everything at once (…note to self). Above, I have compiled some of my favourite pieces that I believe will work both alltogether and also add something special to many outfits when separated. Characteristic Versace: on the cheap (I can’t wait)!

Erin heatherton Jil Sander Elle Serbia
Top model (not the Tyra-related version) and Victoria’s Secret Angel Erin Heatherton has my favourite cover of Elle Serbia thus far. She was shot by Enrique Badulescu for the August 2011 issue wearing one of Jil Sander‘s Spring/Summer 2011 collection skirts…and that skirt only. See the uncensored version below, you cheeky monkey. Red Coat Fabric
Tailor4Less may not have a name that rolls off the tongue like Versace or Prada, but do not discard this Barcelona-cum-Shanghai company until you try them! These guys can make you a stunning red cashmere and wool coat (or, you know, your preferred style) tailored to your every need £129.

It is all made-to-measure and from home! During the buying process, you are given written and photographic instruction regarding the measurements needed, which can all be done via measuring tape. They even e-mailed me to confirm my waist to hip measurements were correct to eleminate mishaps (because in fact, I have Kardashian syndrome). They can offer such low prices because they have eliminated most fixed costs (e.g., retail stores, warehouses, …).

This godsend of a company – Tailor4less – sells worldwide and, therefore, can send worldwide with DHL Express in 2 weeks. This includes their suits, shirts, blazers, pants, skirts, accessories and menswear as well. I’m really thinking about buying a brown suit. I just really want a brown suit.

My Customized Coat: Times Square in (80 percent cashmere!) Passion with grey paisley print lining. If you’d like photos for proof of quality, contact me via Twitter!

Hussein Chalayan PFW Runway
I call for a round of applause in the name of Central Saint Martin‘s Hussein Chalayan. In an intimate gallery in Le Marais, the wunderkind commentated over a short film he had directed as an alternative to a runway show. This is a collection with a plethora of complexity. Influenced by the “surreal aspects of Japanese culture“, tunics and circle-cut shorts were so on target they actually looked like they were floating. This is a unrestrictedly gifted designer. Alexis Mabille Runway PFW
There has been such a profusion of white-based collections over Spring/Summer 2011‘s four fashion weeks that it has become offensive. As part of the trend, Alexis Mabille managed to get off the hook. Though completely neutral, his full skirts and signature bows had a refined dexterity. This is the kind of stuff women reach for when they want something a little bit fabulous in their day. View Post
