How do you make a Jason Wu and Jourdan Dunn fan happy? Let Dunn make her first NYFW Fall/Winter 2011 appearance in the most incredible “Lady in Red” Fashion Week Moment so far. Then let her close the show. In a lace mask. Model squee. Other rah-rah-sis-boom-bah Wu-moments involved a mirrored runway that was properly prepped this time (I’m looking at you, Jason Wu Model Fall Palooza Spring/Summer 2010). The Michelle Obama favourite did not dissapoint; it was positively opulent, with use of over fifteen types of lace. There was an overwhelming sense of accessibility in juxtaposition with the extravagant. Top five looks are below! View Post
There was lots of straightforward subtlety on showcase at BCBG yesterday. Continuing their Spring/Summer trend, the Fall/Winter show was full of sensible, simple pieces over white turtlenecks. While I think it’s great to see Celine-like minimalism at a friendlier price point, Max and Lubov Azria should be worried that they are alienating their trend-happy, versatile customers. I’ve worked for Azria, and know that these type of pieces just don’t sell through their concessions. The five best pieces are below. View Post
A day in the life of Leighton Meester? Frickin’ busy. Take a look at her one-day-three-outfit roundup, starting off with a Giambattista Valli Pre-Fall 2011 look which she wore whilst attending a Soho Apple store ‘Meet The Actors’ event. On bottom, a trusty pair of Brian Atwood leopard ‘Lola’ heels.
Afterwards, Leighton appeared on “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon” in an Emanuel Ungaro Pre-Fall 2011 look with black, strappy Pierre Hardy sandals.
To round it up, she stopped at a NYLON party for their February Issue (which Meester covers) in a Proenza Schouler Spring/Summer 2011 dress and Brian Atwood ‘Bettina’ pumps. She keeps it polished and interesting like no other.
Fashion photographer Gan is doing retro with a twist for Harpers Bazaar Singapore‘s new spread in conjunction with some stellar styling by Kenneth Goh. The fresh take on your forties pinup – “Beauty World” – is thanks to Burberry Prorsum, Dries Van Noten, Jil Sander, Moschino, Miu Miu, Prada and Fendi Spring/Summer 2011 among others. View Post
D&G are relentless in regards to good campaigns. While their Spring/Summer 2011 offerings didn’t make the top of my list, I just can’t deny them a great campaign. Models Mariana Idźkowska, Auguste Abeliunaite, Julia Turenkova, Keke Lindgard, Jessica Clarke, Simon Nessman, Alex Cunha, and Tobias Sorensen are caught in the lens and lens flare of Mario Testino among a luscious frame of florals. Just gorgeous. View Post
