Gah, I adore Emma Stone! Not only did the July 2011 issue of Elle use the power combo of photographer Carter Smith and stylist Joe Zee, but they used one of my favourite actresses as a model! The fashion in “Riot Girl” is extremely strong for a celebrity spread, creating a cohesive and impressive editorial. It’s also to be noted that the clothes aren’t wearing her (you could call this Jessica Alba syndrome?). View Post
Phew! Haven’t done a Behind The Camera for a while. I thought it was only fair, this time, to shine a little light on a dark corner of modelling: The Men’s Corner. While menswear seems to claw at the doors of high fashion, the models are enough reason to open said doors up. Case in point? 22-year-old French model Clement Chabernaud. All cheekbones, all man. His debut was at the Spring/Summer 2005 Dior Homme show in Paris, after which he gained ‘celebrity’ as the face of Jil Sander (who he has been walking for – opening and closing shows – ever since). This year, he also became the face of Prada and Salvatore Ferragamo.
Go on, get lost in his eyes.
Editor at large of Vogue Japan/street style celebrity/blogger Anna Dello Russo was recently interviewed by CNN International News. Why? It looks like someone wanted a tour of her closet (who can blame them?). She told Myleene Klass (icon? O rly?) that she always changes her outfit three times a day, for breakfast, lunch, and dinner time, and dances naked on each occasion.
“Your spirit will give you the right outfit.”

IMG are launching a battle of the celebrity blondes. While Dakota Fanning made the IMG Models Board this weekend, a source at the agency has confirmed that Gossip Girl Taylor Momsen has been dumped. Neither piece of information is particularly surprising as Taylor is clearly on a downward trajectory (and had no deals of late) while Dakota is blossoming into a beautiful woman with a great career both behind and ahead of her. I’m sure her role in Twilight doesn’t hurt, either. Someone please just sign Momsen to the Big Sister program.
Amy Molyneaux and Percy Parker do it well. Really well. PPQ has a top spot on my ‘must-sees’ every year and is always a playground for celebrity spotting. For their “Hassan” collection, everything was rock and roll in a beautiful way. There was a recurring, stunning print that was present on many pieces, as well as a lot of shape-aware cinching. This London Fashion Week, it was a sprinkling of fez hats that punctuated the collection. Paloma Faith was smirking from start to finish. Brava, guys. View Post
