Stepping into the Motel Rocks showroom felt a little bit like the movie Clueless. And a Christmas party.
Both the brand and the women who work at the brand come in a fantastic package: they’re playful, flirty, and trend-aware. With price points that we can all afford, their Autumn/Winter collection has a lot of glitter, and a lot of print. Designed in-house, two standout prints were a Tetris-looking floral print and a smokey paint-splattered print. I think one of the best things about Motel Rocks is that if you like a print but feel that the garment itself isn’t your style, all of their prints come in a range of styles: jeans, crop tops, dresses, hot pants, jackets, and more.
On top of that, Motel is expanding into very exciting shoe territory later this year…but my lips are sealed for now!
This week’s Outfit of The Week is inspired by the gorgeous Bunny Ring from Natasha Zinko (seen above). I love mixing playful elements with impeccable quality and design, so have thrown in the Isabel Marant Linka curly lambskin gilet over a multicolour floral print dress by Mary Katrantzou. Both items have been tied tight under a flower-appliquéd suede belt from Etro.
Because there is go much going on, the accessories need to be quite simple. In talons? The beige leather Nightingale from Givenchy. On toes? Metallic leather wedge sandals from Giuseppe Zanotti. Perfection.

Leighton Meester has emerged from the shadows! Hooray! Snapped in a those few media-perfect moments between the Ritz Hotel in New York and her next destination, she wore a floral-print ruched dress by Carven, strappy brown shoes by Yves Saint Laurent, and a tote bag by Mulberry. Not only was the fashion on key, but her newly chopped locks (and bangs!) are sure to add a kickass element to next season’s Blair Waldorf.
Yes! Leighton Meester is back on the style circuit. Above, we have the official ad for Vera Wang’s “Lovestruck” fragrance – shot by Carter Smith – which Leighton is the spokesmodel for. The ad is a little bit Pretty Woman and unnecessarily Photoshopped, though brush off-able. C’mon, it’s Leighton.
For the fragrance launch, Meester wore a Vera Wang Pre-Spring 2011 top and pants, Roger Vivier shoes, and Cathy Waterman jewellery.
Later on, she joined Vera Wang to light up the Empire State Building. The landmark was illuminated in red and white to raise awareness about DKMS, the world’s largest bone marrow donor center. With ombre hair, Leighton paired a beige Vera Wang Fall/Winter 2011 sleeveless top with a body-lengthening Vera Wang Spring/Summer 2011 floral print skirt. Toffee-coloured Brian Atwood “Debra” slingbacks completed her outfit.
FINALLY – yes, this is all in one day – she attended the DKMS Gala in a Vera Wang Pre-Fall 2011 dress, Cathy Waterman Diamond Leaf Drop Earrings, and the same Brian Atwood heels. Let’s hope she had today off.
