  • It’s official! One of the greatest shows ever made, Absolutely Fabulous, is coming back! In the words of Joanna Lumley (aka Patsy Stone – a woman who hasn’t eaten since 1973), both lead characters are “very old and nearly dead and practically plugged into vodka machines”. Actress Jennifer Saunders (aka Edina Monsoon – born Edwina, but changed her name to Edina because it’s chic-er), who also writes the series, has confirmed that production had begun on three new specials that will feature Saffy, Bubble and many surprise guests: “Like a good bottle of Champagne, we hope that we have got better with time without losing any of our sparkle. Last week when we started filming in dear old west London, it was as if nothing had changed. It was raining. Nevertheless, we are so happy to be working for an audience that has grown just a tiny bit older like us but is still willing to let us fall over on TV in the name of P.R.”

As of yesterday, writer and personal hero Jennifer Saunders (known for writing the sitcom Absolutely Fabulous and a few Friends episodes) signed on to pen the script around the group’s most famous songs. The tentative title? Viva Forever. Raise my hand if I’m about to start designing outfits in honour.
