metropolitan london hotel

Naturally, the Clarks party at the Metropolitan London hotel offered a fabulous excuse to recline* in luxury for the evening. (*work)

Bordering Knightsbridge and Mayfair, The Metropolitan London’s Metropolitan Rooms overlook the beloved green heart of London – Hyde Park – while keeping you cosy in “pared-back and cosseting” interiors. We’re not talking British B&Bs, here.

To boot, the hotel is literally connected to the Japanese-Peruvian and Michelin-starred cuisine from Nobu. If you’re not a foodie when you arrive, you’ll be a foodie when you leave.

To make financial matters worse, my room happened to be right around the corner from The Metropolitan’s newly expanded COMO Shambhala Urban Escape; a spa which offers holistic, Asian-based therapies. Yes. You can be spa adjacent if you’re a glutton for monetary punishment.

In actuality, the room was spa-like enough to keep me perfectly pleased for the night. A fantastically oversized King bed with goosedown duvet, banquette seating area overlooking the Uptown jungle, rainfall shower, and a contemporary but warm space? You have a happy Lela on your hands.

I would live here if I could. It came equipped with everything I needed for work and play; free wifi, a sprawled out desk space, iPod docking station, a jogging map of Hyde Park, electronic ‘do not disturb’ sign, iron/ironing board, Egyptian cotton linen (I need it, okay?!), COMO Shambhala bathroom amenities, and the all-important front desk/concierge which goes above and beyond.

Looking for luxe in London? The Metropolitan has your back.

Lula Magazine Spread With Cintia

Favorite Lula spread

Lula might be my favourite fashion magazine (though they kill it with music and art showcases as well). With an eternally retro feel combined with all of the most incredible and interesting talent of recent years, every issue is a visual delight. There is something almost friendly about the writing, styling, photography, and illustrations that are splattered across the 3lb-in-weight issues. It’s what every young girl dreams she finds to stick on her bedroom wall.

In celebration of their fifth birthday, Fiona Leahy designed a celebratory pop-up shop in Harvey Nichols Knightsbridge that opens today! They’re giving away Chanel goodies with every purchase, and definitely giving you reasons to purchase with Erdem, Miu Miu, Rodarte, Sonia Rykiel and Charles Anastase exclusives.

Fourth Floor. 109 – 125 Knightsbridge, London, SW1X 7RJ.
