It is rare to find impeccable fashion shown with a sense of humour, which is why I have fallen in love with “Remake Couture” in L’Officiel October 2011. Definitely one of my favourite spreads of the year. Marie José Jalou‘s fashion styling is magnificent, and Jean-Daniel Lorieux was the perfect choice to snap up Tanya Dziahileva‘s – supremely underrated – beauty. “Emma W, Carmen, and Charlotte” also feature in diverse, Ugly Stepsister-esque roles with perfection. Right-click, set as background.
Apparently, some reliable sources (aka everyone’s eyes) saw Beyonce’s baby bump shift and fold in two during an appearance on Sunday Night HD.
The alleged prosthetic baby was pretty obvious as a fake. No belly – of that size – has the ability to do that. Even if made of fat.
But riddle me this, instead of shouting ‘Beyonce is a Fake!’, might it be worth considering she would wear extra padding simply to avoid the media ‘bump watch’ that plagues most celebrity women?
Seeyalata to the Fashion, Fitness and Makeup badge (quel horreur!) but a big hello to a Science of Style badge that has girls learn about nanotechnology in fabrics and the chemistry of sunscreens! They will also be introducing badges for locavore awareness, financial literacy, and website design. Can I sign up again?
“Trying to get brands on board for this film was bruising to my ego. Abercrombie & Fitch told me I was fat, ugly, pale and had the moustache of a pornographer so they weren’t going to sponsor my film.”
I am so excited to see Tavi Gevinson – of Style Rookie fame – on the cover of L’Officiel! Though she is still in her teens, she is essentially the Blogging Queen. Jean-Paul Goude photographed the blogger/Rookie Magazine Editor in head-to-toe Chanel for their latest issue of the magazine, and it is almost bittersweet; a reflection of “Tween Tavi” (probably the image burned into your mind) with grey hair, geek chic glasses, and a throwback-perfect hair bow. The flashback-esque shot couldn’t be complete without notebook in hand on a just-too-big chiavari chair, could it?
It’s Gucci, mane. After the great Gucci vs. Prada Spring/Summer 2011 debate, I realised that this gold dress was getting as much cover time as that ever-present white eyelet dress from Dolce & Gabbana. In the Gucci showcase below we have Beyonce Knowles on L’Officiel, Naomi Campbell on Vogue Japan, and Luca Gadjus on German Glamour (where they truly cheapened the garment through a typography fail). It was destined for a Fashion Spot. To me, the brand is textural glamour; nothing needs to be happening except for garment focus. Hope you like it!
IBJUBIERJNGIEJFGNE. I love seeing Leighton Meester in spreads that aren’t Photoshopped to the heavens or injected with plasti-smiles (looking at you, teen ‘magazines’). The Gossip Girl left Blair Waldorf behind for L’Officiel Lithuania‘s March issue, channeling Hepburn 2011 in a neon pink Lanvin S/S 2011 top, emerald green Jil Sander S/S 2011 skirt, pink stilettos and slick mane. The rest of the looks are a compilation of MaxMara, YSL, Gucci and Fendi: masters of la séduction facile. View Post
