“V72: The Transformation Issue” is upon us (that’s V Magazine‘s latest issue to you and I). Not only have they got Mert and Marcus to shoot Penelope Cruz for the cover – oh no – but they’ve turned the technicolour image into a hologram that opens and closes her eyes when tilted.
Inside, the issue contains an interview and photo-shoot with a completely transformed Paris Hilton (seen below), who is claiming for the first time that her ‘dumb heiress’ image has been a publicity stunt from Day One.
With Lady Gaga, Anna Paquin, Karl Lagerfeld and much more, V72 is packed with goodness. View Post
As Kate Moss‘ wedding extravaganza (“Mosstock”) slowly approaches, I thought it would only be appropriate to oogle at the NSFW greatness of “Perfection in Couture” – her May 2011 fashion spread in Vogue Japan. Crew includes photography team Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, as well as stylist George Cortina. View Post
What a genius concept. For Industrie Magazine‘s third issue, Mert & Marcus are fronting the cover. You read right; the unparalleled fashion photographers have done a self portrait of themselves and brought something entirely new to the table. If I were Mert Alas or Marcus Piggott, I certainly couldn’t think of better photographers to shoot my first cover. Congratulations, dreamboats.
What do I love about this new Love cover by Mert & Marcus? The ‘lesbian kiss’ between freckle-faced Kate Moss and transgender model Lea T seems to have a realistic energy. Then I remember that Katie Grand decided to put Justin Bieber on a separate cover for the issue, and all I see is ‘ sales strategy’. What a shame.
The Russian sign in the fifth picture of Naomi Campbell‘s attention-grabbing shoot for Interview‘s October issue translate into “for men only”. Unfortunately, male model Alex Kovas doesn’t seem to be allowed to enjoy this…perk? Joining stylist Karl Templer, the blue filter-crazy team of Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott are delivering. View Post
