Lottie Moss

Lottie Moss

  • So, remember when Kate Moss‘ little sister was causing some “Hey, look! She’s beautiful, too!” commotion when Kate’s wedding photos were released? Well, now she’s a model. See: 13-year-old Lottie Moss, above. (Photos by Andrea Carter Bowman).

  • Well this is interesante! Moda Operandi is becoming a serious force to be reckoned with, as they have just announced the hiring/pillaging of Taylor Tomasi Hill filling the role of MO’s artistic director.

  • Apparently, Marc Jacobs is no longer the name-of-the-moment in regards to taking over John Galliano at Dior. As Jacobs insisted on taking his Louis Vuitton team with him to Dior – which would leave Vuitton pretty helpless – if he were to make the move, he has been removed from talks. The position still remains open, and I still believe if Riccardo Tisci was to shake his brand loyalty, it would be his in a hot second.

  • Look how super-dupily-smoking-hot Demi Lovato looked on the 2011 Latin Grammy Awards red carpet! In a very un-Disney move, she wore a berry-coloured Roland Mouret Compeyson zip-front gown, made of stretch-crepe and actually worn back-to-front.

By turning the plunging back into a plunging neckline, employing some major curls, and bronzing to the high heavens, she has made the look – impressively – her own. Style headed in the right direction, Miss Lovato.

  • When pressed for their comments regarding Madonna’s foray into further sectors of the fashion industry:

“Maybe next season, we should sing a song.”

  • This week in Milan? Giorgio Armani wished he could “have a fresh start as an architect”; not too off-topic, considering he just opened his latest luxury hotel in the fashion capital, and announced plans to open others in London, Paris and New York.

  • Lily Cole, everyone’s favourite red-haired model-turned-actress (ok..so she’s the only one), has a cameo role in the forthcoming movie “Snow White & the Huntsman“. If you want to spot her in the trailer, look for the girl being obliterated by Charlize Theron. Poor lil beauty.

  • BIG NEWS! Five months after the brand was acquired by private equity firm Labelux, Jimmy Choo is losing co-founder and chief creative officer Tamara Mellon! Not only Tamara, but also the company’s current CEO, Joshua Shulman. Considering Labelux paid $800 million for brand ownership, I doubt they are planning to live on the streets, but it does raise questions regarding motive for both of the talented fashion figures to leave.
  • Alistair Carr

    Alistair Carr

Alistair Carr is taking the reigns as Pringle‘s new design director! The label just announced the hiring of the talented Balenciaga alum, which will undoubtedly lock in their recent industry appreciation. Carr has worked directly under Nicolas Ghesquiere, as well as designing for Chloe, Cacharel, and Marni.

On the other end of the spectrum, the 20-year-old megabrand Sigerson Morrison has just lost it’s founders: Kari Sigerson and Miranda Morrison. Reports say that the duo will be “pursuing other business opportunities”, likely due to a push into mass markets. C’est la vie.
