Obviously I got a little bit ahead of myself by taking wardrobe cues from the sunshine today; this outfit is my most hopeful attempt at jumping straight into Summer mode. Blame the delivery of Uniqlo’s staple tunics and pretty jackets coming all at once, but somehow I managed to convince myself that one layer balanced out the other in regards to body temperature.
It didn’t…but I’m colourful and happy.
What I Wore:
Uniqlo tunic as a dress (shorts necessary!). Uniqlo jacket. Dune platform sandals.
I have started to realise that my free days (aka days spent out of meetings but in my office) are controlled by comfort. It is a cardinal freelancer sin that I love to break. Though so-called ‘work attire’ is supposed to motivate you into a business frame of mind, nothing makes me getter done like easy separates that are sunshine ready.
And yes, I look like I don’t have eyeballs in these photos.
What I Wore: Handmade floral shorts (similar here), old baby pink dress from Topshop – worn as a top (similar here), and platform sandals from TK Maxx.
While schmoozing in New York, I happened to miss out on a lot of my favourite sample sales in London. To console myself, I allowed myself one hour to browse the online sales and was lucky enough to find these brown cork wedges from Dune – get this – for £40 (almost 50% off!)
The entire sandals category is pretty jam-packed right now with designer goods. Amazing deals from Lanvin, Dolce & Gabbana…there are even a pair of Chloe sandals down from £535 to £179!
These guys took the cake for me, however. The platform keeps the wedges wearable but the height and curvature of the heel really compliment what could have been a heavy-looking style. Steal.
