Cheryl Cole X Factor
Cheryl Cole trotted along to the first round of auditions for “The X Factor” yesterday at the Galen Center in LA wearing this…ensemble. The majority of critics hate it.

My stance? When you wear an Oscar de la Renta ruffled silk top and Diane von Furstenberg Simca stretch-cotton pants together, you have a perfect presentation for entrance into the US market. On top of that, wearing such bold colour-blocking puts her Yankee Fashion Icon image aspirations in full gear. With the addition of the patent leather belt from Burberry Prorsum, it all felt very right, very Charlie’s Angels 2011.

That said, the electric shock hair turns it into a costume. What a poor styling choice for such a career-defining moment. This ‘look’ will be seen by millions, this will be her first impression. Looking like an extra in The Lion King. Fire your stylist, gorgeous woman. Your X Factor UK style is flawless.

Rihanna X Factor
RiRi, ILY. X-Factor, well, I’ll keep those comments to myself. Regardless, Rihanna wowed the studio, tv, and online audiences this weekend with her performance of Only Girl (In The World). She wore a customised version of William Tempest‘s Spring Summer 2011 Oyster dress while having a musical food fight. Try and tell me you don’t want to see her in concert. Miu Miu PFW Runway Anais Pouliot
It’s always nice to end on a neon note. Miuccia Prada wrapped up the four main worldwide Fashion Weeks at Miu Miu with a Seventies bow and a soundtrack that strangely featured dialogue from Flashdance, Cheryl Cole and the X Factor. With a timeless mix of “Oh my God” pieces and extreme elegance, there were individual quirks to each piece like stylised swan prints. Wait about two months and you’ll see these items on every magazine shelf you walk by. Thus ends Spring/Summer 2011. Excuse me while I throw my platforms at the wall and slip into a fashion coma.
