Fashion News – November 10, 2011

Versace H&M
Jessica Alba, Chloe Moretz, Coco Rocha, and Blake Lively
  • True to the brand, Versace‘s launch party/fashion show for their collaboration with H&M was decked out in an equal measure of fluoro and black.

Who did you think looked best on the red carpet out of those above? (Tell me on Facebook, then take a look at the campaign video below!)

    Do werk, Donatellla.

  • Attention, Little Monsters! Though celebrity perfumes are a dime a dozen, you are probably going to flip your lid over Lady Gaga’s (now that it doesn’t smell like “blood and semen”).

    In her own words,

“I wanted to extract sort of the feeling and sense of blood and semen from molecular structures, so that’s where [the rumours] came from, and that is in the perfume but it doesn’t smell like that”.

Coming soon to a cosmetics counter near you, the appropriately titled: MONSTER!

  • Recently, everyone’s favourite fashion designer, Alber Elbaz, announced that he has been working on a book. In a process which I hope will be similar to the Kenzo book, he has confirmed that he will be detailing the intricate practices that a Lanvin collection undergoes.

The 700-page book (though some pages are left blank, as “that is how I start every day”) will be released early 2012.

  • Kelly Osbourne has been confirmed as a judge on Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model for their next season! (Non-UK disclaimer: Despite the lengthy name, it is actually only one show).

  • I am super excited (and slightly confused) about this next piece of news! Stefano Tonchi (Editor in Chief of W), Amy Astley (Editor in Chief of Teen Vogue), and Brandon Holley (Editor in Chief of Lucky), are reported to be starring – as themselves – in “Jane by Design“, a new ABC family show which premieres January 2012. Premise? A teenager (presumably “Jane”) is mistaken for an adult and therefore lands a job at a fashion house.

  • Nicole Richie has been named “Influencer of the Year” by The Accessories Council, thanks to her against-all-odds accessories line, House of Harlow 1960. She is also working on a “very hands on” clothing line for QVC!

  • Isaac Mizrahi and Jean Paul Gaultier are both launching eyewear collections.
