Versace H&M

Jessica Alba, Chloe Moretz, Coco Rocha, and Blake Lively

  • True to the brand, Versace‘s launch party/fashion show for their collaboration with H&M was decked out in an equal measure of fluoro and black.

Who did you think looked best on the red carpet out of those above? (Tell me on Facebook, then take a look at the campaign video below!)

    Do werk, Donatellla.

  • Attention, Little Monsters! Though celebrity perfumes are a dime a dozen, you are probably going to flip your lid over Lady Gaga’s (now that it doesn’t smell like “blood and semen”).

    In her own words,

“I wanted to extract sort of the feeling and sense of blood and semen from molecular structures, so that’s where [the rumours] came from, and that is in the perfume but it doesn’t smell like that”.

Coming soon to a cosmetics counter near you, the appropriately titled: MONSTER!

  • Recently, everyone’s favourite fashion designer, Alber Elbaz, announced that he has been working on a book. In a process which I hope will be similar to the Kenzo book, he has confirmed that he will be detailing the intricate practices that a Lanvin collection undergoes.

The 700-page book (though some pages are left blank, as “that is how I start every day”) will be released early 2012.

  • Kelly Osbourne has been confirmed as a judge on Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model for their next season! (Non-UK disclaimer: Despite the lengthy name, it is actually only one show).

  • I am super excited (and slightly confused) about this next piece of news! Stefano Tonchi (Editor in Chief of W), Amy Astley (Editor in Chief of Teen Vogue), and Brandon Holley (Editor in Chief of Lucky), are reported to be starring – as themselves – in “Jane by Design“, a new ABC family show which premieres January 2012. Premise? A teenager (presumably “Jane”) is mistaken for an adult and therefore lands a job at a fashion house.

  • Nicole Richie has been named “Influencer of the Year” by The Accessories Council, thanks to her against-all-odds accessories line, House of Harlow 1960. She is also working on a “very hands on” clothing line for QVC!

  • Isaac Mizrahi and Jean Paul Gaultier are both launching eyewear collections.
  • Lana Del Rey Prabal Gurung

Lana Del Rey in Prabal Gurung

At the Q Awards, beautiful songstress Lana Del Rey was the recipient of the “Next Big Thing” award (which she is). Not super-fashiony news, I know, but LOOK at her Prabal Gurung Resort 2012 floral print dress! Dead. The white brogues add that perfect touch.

  • If you are at all aware of fashion on Twitter, you probably follow DKNY PR Girl. Though the ‘Twitter celebrity’ has kept her identity a secret (making us all woner, “Who is @DKNY?“), she has actually quietly revealed all!

Say hello to Aliza Licht, the Senior Vice President of Global Communications at Donna Karan International (via her video posted to Tumblr).

  • Karl Lagerfeld is launching a new line with Net-a-Porter! Seriously, when does he sleep? For a January 25th release date, the genius designer is creating “Karl“; a 100-piece women’s collection based heavily on denim and leather. A mens collection will follow for Autumn/Winter 2012.

Founder and executive chairman of Net-a-Porter, Natalie Massenet, said

“We believe in this collection based on Karl’s talent, his global appeal and the product itself. It’s a very strong, well-edited collection with a great mix of street attitude and timeless chic. It also is an entire wardrobe that mixes and matches well with itself.”

  • At Teen Vogue‘s “Fashion U” classes this past weekend, over 30 fashion industry heavyweights gave their guidance and regaled stories to a large group of young, wannabe name-to-knows. One very poignant note from the weekend? Proenza Schouler now “care less about what the critics [have to say] and more about the kids on blogs … their responses are pure, and instinctual”.

  • Up until now, my perfume collection has only consisted of spray fragrances or solid bar fragrances. Not too far from now, it may include “Swallowable Parfum“: a cosmetic tablet/pill (literally) that enables human skin to emit a genetically unique scent about who we are and how we perform our identities. Basically turning our skin into an atomizer.

I can’t lie…I really want to try this. Would you?

  • jeremy scott sneakers

  • The first look at Jeremy Scott for Adidas Spring/Summer 2012 has arrived! As these are the only non-heels I get really excited about (which my shoe blog can confirm), I am in instant animal sneaker love. Thank you, Pablo Olea.

  • Alexa Chung has been talking to Teen Vogue about her “It-Girl Problems“, ie. she spent her entire wardrobe budget for “24-Hour Catwalk” (her upcoming TV show) on a single Balenciaga leather jacket. She joked that she will have “10 episodes to do and nothing to wear”. I wish my problems were this Balenciaga-related.

  • I don’t think Jean Paul Gaultier will be looking forward to any coverage in Vogue any time soon. In a recent interview, the designer decided to bare all in when the topic of fashion films and The Devil Wears Prada came up. Ever wondered what industry insider’s thought of the rumoured Editor in Chief ice queen? In his own words?

Anna Wintour is a lot more monstrous than she is described!

  • The New York Times put up quite a brilliant article regarding Sex and The City, Christian Louboutin, and how Manolo Blahnik got stiletto status. Check it out here
  • Rachel Zoe
Seven months-pregnant stylist Rachel Zoe has passed another flight on her stairway to heaven. Her much-awaited contemporary collection for Fall/Winter 2011 was somewhat-secretly previewed yesterday. In addition to her under-$200 line for QVC, Zoe’s new line – on which she partnered with Fung & Li – considers their rivals to be Alexander Wang and Diane von Furstenberg.
    Rachel Zoe Stole Design
Unfortunately, we’ve spotted a slight uh oh in the designs. In 2007, Zoe styled a fashion story for Teen Vogue that…well…featured an identical dress. While white-and-black sequins can easily be imitated without design fraud, an exact pattern is much harder to replicate without questions being raised. I believe Rachel also wore the original design to the Marc Jacobs after-party that following Fashion Week. No comment from my beloved Zoe Camp just yet. I die. View Post
