  • I am lusting over the pairing of Alessandra Ambrosio and Rodrigo Santoro on the December covers of Vogue Brasil, as shot by Eric Guillemain.

  • Fashion Week’s Autumn/Winter 2012 drama seems to be making some headway! After the “Fashion Gods” in Milan threatened to show at the same time as both New York and London, New York have now offered to pull their September 2012 dates back a week to accommodate the new Italian schedule.

From there, Italy was said to have agreed to change their schedule to suit New York Fashion Week beginning on the second Thursday in September, going forward.

For the apparent ‘final’ decision, the statement below has been released:

Confirm the previous schedule for September 2012 with New York fashion week starting on Thursday 6 of September, followed by London, Milan and Paris Agree for the next two years ( September 2013 and September 2014) with the proposal of Diane Von Furstenberg, President of Council of Fashion Designers of America, to start New York Fashion Week on the second Thursday of September, that is to say on September 12th in 2013 and on September 11th in 2014.

2.a New York’s last day should be on September 18th in 2013 and on September 17th in 2014 in order to allow London an additional day for the presentation of the menswear collections.

2.b. Paris will accept this structure and follow Milan as always, starting on Wednesday 2nd of October in 2013 and on Wednesday 1st in 2014

In case those conditions didn’t happen, the above mentioned solution could not be applied.

Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana is looking forward to receiving a feedback(sic) from New York, London and Paris.

  • Today, AdWeek have released some very interesting statistics on shoplifting, ie. 1 in every 11 shoppers shoplift. (Really?!)

Not only that, but 75% of shoplifters are said to be employed adults, and cost the U.S. $119 million dollars per year. Items that are often confused for a five-finger discount include alcohol, sneakers/trainers, women’s perfume, and – at the top of the list – filet mignon.

This has to be a joke.

  • Excuse me while I wipe away some salty, embarrassing tears. Beyoncé‘s latest music video is one of my forever favourites. “I Was Here (Live at Roseland)” is essentially a montage of important and meaningful experiences in her life, and we even get to catch a look at Beyonce in her wedding dress (made by her mom, Tina Knowles) for the first time in almost four years. Watch…or I’ll cry again.

  • Thanks to Missoni, I’m sure, Target‘s third-quarter sales are up 3.4 percent.

  • For London Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2012, the official sponsor is changing from Canon to Vodafone UK.

  • Though it comes as no surprise, it is still a little sad to hear that Claridge’s (the London hotel) has let go of John Galliano in regards to his long-time affair designing their annual Christmas decorations. Thankfully, we can still look forward to something spectacular, as the job has been handed over to Lanvin’s Alber Elbaz. Anyone else hoping he shows up in a Santa suit for the press reveal?

  • Moda Operandi have wooed their way into another big-hitter’s staff resources! This week, Ashley Bryan (head of marketing and sales for Net-a-Porter in the US) has announced an immediate move to take on the role of Moda Operandi’s chief marketing officer. Fun fact: she is also the daughter of Anna Wintour’s longtime boyfriend, communications executive Shelby Bryan.

  • Costello Tagliapietra is going to release a diffusion line! For Spring/Summer 2012, new line “C&T” will offer 13 dresses that retail for $298 a piece.

  • This has made my weekend! After months of waiting to see something from the film adaptation of “The Great Gatsby“, we have a photo of Australian model Gemma Ward on the set! Gemma plays Catherine – the sister of Myrtle Wilson (Isla Fisher) – and looks picture perfect in pin curls and full ‘20s attire. The costumes are going to be out of this world; I can’t wait to see the ensembles of Carey Mulligan, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Tobey Maguire, as well.

  • Lauren Bush and David Lauren‘s wedding photos: revealed! Major, vintage-esque swoons over at Vogue.
  • Blue Dress

There’s a picture that she paints without a brush
There are times when all her silver turns to dust
And she is blue as a jewel
Clear as ice kind and cruel

Though I love photography, I have yet to master the self portrait. WOOPS. Here is an Outfit of The Day for you, anyway, lovely gentlemen and gentlewomen.

I was recently invited to preview Marks & Spencer’s Autumn/Winter 2011 accessories collection via a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party. We’re talking tea, cakes, Prosecco, and a room full of shoes, jewellery, handbags, hats, and more at ridiculously affordable price points.

With all of the accessories split into four categories – Boy Meets Girl (doctors bags galore!), Nordic Narnia (frosted yet cozy), Global Traveller (gorgeous, colourful items) and Wilderness (faux fur for all!) – you would expect there would be a category you didn’t favor as much. Not the case. All four were full of fashionable, quality items.

Set up in homage to Alice in Wonderland‘s ‘eat me‘ tags, everything was tagged and asking you to feel it. With reason. I urge you to go to an M&S now and stroke your way through the accessories department.
