christmas gift guide

For the film connoisseur…

I’m not a huge fan of purchasing DVDs for people but I do love buying presents for fellow film-lovers so was thrilled to find out Cineworld have just released their gift box for the holidays to open the magic of the cinematic experience; two 2D or 3D tickets, two regular drinks, one regular popcorn and two Merryteaser chocolates for just £25!

The idea? Share more magic with Cineworld. Grab your Wizarding World-loving pal and present them with the gift box and JK Rowling’s Harry Potter and The Cursed Child wrapped up in a Hogwarts hoodie (surprisingly easy to do and adorable as the sleeves can easily be fashioned into a bow!). Conveniently, the hoodie is also likely to be the only comfortable thing to wear to Cineworld on your food-comaed Boxing Day trip to Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them before it leaves cinemas.

This gift idea can obviously work for any movie your loved one has shown interest in, so don’t hesitate to be creative! So many films are about to be released – – Rogue One, Assassins Creed, T2, Sing, etc – and all have an inspiring theme of their own to tie into your friends and families interests. The gifts are available online from Cineworld.com and in Cineworld cinemas nationwide.

For the big dreamer…

I love group gifting but it can often be very hard to keep track of and often put a lot of pressure on one person (“the money handler”). Leetchi (which also works for crowdfunding) has completely taken the hassle out of it. Money pots (or projects) are set up within minutes, completely secure, and hold all of the money with no stress to the organiser.

The idea: Have a friend who has always dreamed of spending a romantic weekend in Paris? Luxury hotel costs, Eurostar tickets, and a restaurant gift card for two may cost £400 but you can split the cost between ten friends at only £40 a piece! Has your Mum spent the last ten years lusting over a Mulberry Bayswater? You can split the cost with the rest of your family for less than £100 each!

With a few messages exchanged beforehand to find all interested parties, group gifting can literally make dreams come true.

For the impossible to buy for…

Not to worry! I love helping people find and create special gifts so if you’ve trawled through the best gift guides around (hint: House of Fraser has a fabulous one!) and still feel stuck, shoot me a tweet (@lelalondon) and I’ll do my darnedest to help.

Happy Holidays, babes.

CHISTMAS GIFTS
We have just over two weeks left until Santa Claus comes to town and – if you’re anything like me – just about all your loved ones’ presents left to purchase.

Fear not, festive friends! I have created a handy list of wanton presents – the best Christmas gifts (for everyone) – to inspire you and make your gift-giving exceptionally easy and fun.

Giftspiration, if you will.

Christmas Gifts

For The Beauty Lover That Has It All…
Esthechoc. These one-a-day dark ‘beauty chocolates’ use Cocoa Polyphenols and Astracells to form a complex anti-ageing beauty supplement. Each individually-wrapped portion works to keep skin clear, luminous and oxygenated from the inside out (and they have the science to prove it!). A tasty treatment, to say the least

For The One Who Loves Vintage…
The Celine Thin Preppy Sunglasses are a statement and a half.

For The One with a Red Cup permenantly attached to their hand…
Starbucks have the most ridiculously adorable range of mugs, tumblers, stacking cups, et al. I find I’ll often use my “special cups” as decorative items (makeup brush holders, pencil holders, etc) so love the idea of filling these with something personal, as well.

For The One That Needs to take time for herself…
Gift cards can come with a bit of a stigma as a last-minute gift, but a Priv giftcard sits in an entirely different present realm. As the app offers a number of in-home beauty and health services, you can give the selfless woman in your life the gift of everything from professional hair and makeup to a resolution-friendly personal training sesh.

For The Rose Gold addict…
I am an absolute glutton for everything rose gold and recently came across two fragrant little beauties perfecr for any woman of the same ilk: the Monsoon Rose Gold fragrance and Cocolux Wild Frangipani candle. The fragrance is a fresh floral with lemon, vanilla and amber notes ahile the candle is hardcore Frangipani sweetness infused in Coconut wax. Like cheat day for your nose.

For The Blogger…
Since coming across the vintage-style Olympus Pen E-PL7, I have become wholly obsessed with the camera. Both technically and aesthetically sophisticated, the camera features an LCD that flips down (vlogging goals), built-in Wi-Fi, and specs that will rival your favourite DSLR.

For The One Obsessed With Lush…
I was 11 years old when I made my first Lush order and have been the happy recipient of many Lush products in the 10+ Christmases since. The Lush Legends box set, however, feels like all of those holidays in one.

The decadent present contains 27 of the brand’s bestsellers (scrubs, bath bombs, conditioners, and more). It is the ultimatw in indulgence.

For The One Who Doesn’t Like Anything…
I firmly believe that gifts should be personal but know that this can often be a challenge for those with friends and family members who keep their hearts off their sleeves.

For this, concert tickets are my go-to recommendation. It is relatively simple to discover someone’s musical tastes and feels like such a treat to immerse a friend in something they love (creating memories while you’re at it!).

If all else fails, I’ve also never see someone receive a hoverboard with anything less than excitement.

Christmas Beauty Gift Competition
If you happen to live in a city that has not yet been taken over by twinkling lights and red-and-green ‘designer cupcakes’, I feel it my obligation to warn you: Christmas is coming to town. Christmas and lots and lots of presents are coming to town.

Thankfully, the presents need not worry your wallet. For the sake of little holiday cheer, Lloyds Pharmacy have let me pick out £100 of my favourite beauty goodies to gift to one lucky winner! Whether you are looking to get your stocking stuffers out of the way or want to gift yourself a little something, these products are all tried and true!

claires unicef
As a baby Lela one of my favourite places to visit during any shopping excursion had always been Claire’s. The accessories store – more than likely – is a major factor in my lifelong obsession with glitter.

Though it has been a few years since I have been in store, Claire’s recent partnership with UNICEF is more than enough reason for all of us to head back through their doors. Called “Little Things Make A Big Difference”, the collaboration aims to give children the best start in life be assisting UNICEF’s efforts to send lifesaving supplies such as clean water, vaccines and food to those who need it the most.

This Christmas, Claire’s will be selling six bespoke jewellery items in their Claire’s For Unicef Range to raise money for UNICEF as well as encouraging Claire’s customers to add a donation at the till whenever a purchase is made. Being virtually the greatest place for girl-friendly stocking stuffers that I can think of, you can give a lot (and give a little more) for next to nothing this Christmas.
