I am a little bit of a Jessica Stam stan. When I saw this photo pop up on my screen, I literally eep-ed. Apart from Tyra Banks and Christie Brinkley, this is the first supermodel – that I can recall – to become a “CoverGirl“, and she’s doing it with all sorts of Stam-Specific Beauty.
If it wasn’t the most expensive place I’ve ever visited in my life, this very fashionable piece of news would almost make me want to move to Singapore.
See that photo above? That is the future of Louis Vuitton. In just under a month (September 18th to be exact), the superbrand is going to unveil “Island Maison” at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore. Hailed to be one of the most sophisticated shopping concepts to date, the Maison store – designed by Peter Marino – will sit directly on water and have floor to ceiling windows that overlook the bay itself. Upon first glance, I thought Jennifer Aniston was having a very peculiar day out. Then, I came to realise the above photo was actually of Nicole Kidman. Turns out throwing on some blonde dye, 30 pounds of make-up, and an updated version of “The Rachel” can be quite confusing for a Kidman fan. Though the make-over has been constructed while she’s filming “The Paperboy”, this might be my favourite hair hue of hers. I hope she keeps it, but loses the hairspray/flat iron.
And then there was Kate. Kate Bosworth to be exact. Last night, she attended a Coldplay concert (strange – as she was rumoured to be Gwyneth Paltrow‘s “other woman” a while back) wearing a gorgeous Misssoni blouse, and debuting a new dip-dyed teal hairstyle. The Tumblr babies are going to love this one.
The girl in the middle of the photo above is pretty flawless, isn’t she? If you don’t already recognise her, let me introduce you to sixteen-year-old Aimi Eguchi – the 7th member of Japanese Pop band AKB48.
Hold your fan letters, though – she’s not real. It has just been revealed that the beauty is actually a CGI composite of various features of six existing members of the girl group. We’re talking eyes by Atsuko Maeda, nose by Tomomi Itano, mouth by Mariko Shinoda, hair and body by Yuko Oshima, outline by Minami Takahashi, and eyebrows by Mayu Watanabe. Watch how they did it in the video below.
Everything is so on point for US Vogue‘s “Spellbound” photo spread in their July 2011 issue. Photographed by Peter Lindbergh, we get a deliciously obscene amount of chemistry displayed from Lara Stone and Alexander Skarsgård (Eric Northman seems to be giving me the eyes). Grace Coddington‘s styling – once again – is compositionally perfect. This spread is phenomenal. Even Frida Gustavsson is thrown in for good model measure. View Post
