Holy moly, Urban Decay have been working hard on some heavy hitters.

Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick
Seen here in Naked (a nude pink) and Anarchy (a bright fuchsia), Urban Decay’s new lipsticks are heaven sent for colour queens. The pigment load is insanely rich. So much so that I had to scrub Anarchy off of my lips when getting ready for bed. Shockingly (because long-stay lipsticks are typically very drying), they also use jojoba oil, avocado oil, cocoa butter and Shea butter to ensure a super hydrating formula. One in every colour, please.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Ultra Definition Pressed Finishing Powder
Jet-milled powder is the creme de la creme and Urban Decay’s version is no exception. Free of parabens, alcohol, and fragrance, this finishing powder offers a soft-focus effect to the skin while keeping shine at bay. True to the ‘Naked’ name, it is also completely undetectable as a powder.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Lip Pencil
Relaunch of the century! To match the lipsticks, I now have my hands on Naked2 and Anarchy. These waterproof lip liners, in my opinion, are unbeatable. Worn alone or under lipstick, they are also an incredible lip primer (get Ozone – their clear shade – if intimidated by colour pencils).

Urban Decay Brow Box
When a homegirl loves her brows, that love comes with a troublesome arsenal of brow products. Urban Decay have created a bite-sized brow kit to make things easier. Two shades of silky brow powder, setting wax, mini tweezers, two mirrors, and two angled brushes encased in a double-layer compact. Our brows thank you, UD.

Urban Decay B6 Vitamin-Infused Complexion Prep Spray
Created from a savvy partnership with Skindinavia, this is the first prep product I have seen utilise a stabilised form of B6 (which absorbs oil, reduces redness, and minimises pores). As well as giving your makeup a beautifully soft canvas, the spray’s blend of vitamins and antioxidants (plus skin-clearing willow bark!) consistently works to improve the look and health of your skin.

Urban Decay Fun Palette

Because no-one does make-up palettes like Urban Decay, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on their latest releases: the Feminine, Dangerous, and Fun Palettes. These limited-edition beauties are each filled with six richly pigmented eyeshadows as well as a travel-sized Lip Junkie lipgloss.

The Fun Palette — For a little bit of technicolour beauty, this palette will become your best friend. Cased in a bright teal, this palette contain’s two of Urban Decay’s most-loved retired eyeshadows, Deep End and Freakshow:
Eyeshadows: Deep End (bright teal shimmer), Fishnet (bright pink w/purple shift), Freakshow (deep royal purple pearl), Maui Wowie (metallic golden beige shimmer w/silver glitter), Stray Dog (cool metallic ash brown shimmer) and Sellout (pinky champagne shimmer).
Lipgloss: Midnight Cowboy (sheer nude sparkle).

The Feminine Palette – Cased in frayed lace, black fishnet, and sleek purple, this set is packed with shimmer, smoke, and the sultriest eyeshadow I have ever owned, Bordello:
Eyeshadows: AC/DC (smoky grayish purple shimmer), Bordello (pale mauve shimmer w/gold micro-glitter), Gunmetal (dark metallic gray shimmer w/silver micro-glitter), Hijack (deep metallic teal shimmer), Lost (medium metallic brown shimmer) and Skimp (light peachy pearl).
Lipgloss: Wallflower (nude creamy pink).

The Dangerous Palette — Something about this palette screams ‘The Runaways’, to me. Deep statement-making jewel tones are the order of the day while seductive neutrals (you have to try Mushroom as an eyeliner!) balance things out:
Eyeshadows: Ace (deep gray/blue shimmer), Deeper (metallic dark brown w/bronze pearl), Evidence (deep navy blue shimmer), Gravity (deep violet shimmer w/multi-colored micro-glitter), Loaded (deep metallic emerald shimmer) and Mushroom (warm pale gray shimmer).
Lipgloss: Naked (pinky neutral).

carrie underwood cmt makeup
Carrie Underwood looked so incredible at last night’s Country Music Awards, photo-reviewing naturally turned into an occasion for a make-up tutorial. Forever the fake tan and nude lip queen, Carrie and I have different ideas when it comes to beauty, but we both rock very easy-to-do results. (Hand me a red lipstick and mascara, I’m done!)

Get Carrie’s Look: (Products used at the end of the post!)

1. Skin: BB Cream it. Her skin looks lit from within, so any base in a full coverage or matte finish will look overdone. Conceal under the eyes to lift the eye area.
2. Cheeks: Sweep a natural pink tone from the apples of your cheek towards your temples. Apply a highlighter on the top of your cheekbones for an extra dose of sparkle.
3. Eyes: First, take a long-wearing gold eyeshadow and apply it over your entire lid. Using a thin brush, continue the eyeshadow around the inner corner of your eye and lower lash line. Apply a black gel or pencil eyeliner on your waterline and upper lash line, and smudge the line slightly on the outer corner of your eyes with the same brush. Add mega lashes.
4. Lips: Wipe a dab of your BB cream on the lips to wash them out, and apply your shiniest gloss over the top.
