Not to worry, the house of Alexander McQueen is safe. Though the fashion world will continue to mourn the pionerring designer’s death for years to come, his torch is invariably carried through the designs of Sarah Burton – I don’t know any other designer that could have stepped in and kept Lee Alexander’s heritage in tact. For Fall/Winter 2011, she went as far as to cover a gown’s bodice with broken china, introduce sublime black harnesses and pull other entrancingly vindictive designs from McQueen DNA. With such a bevy of breathtaking garments, any truth in the rumours concerning Burton as Kate Middleton‘s royal wedding dress designer call for fashion hysteria.
